Did you read what the guy said? He said that the Mini's dyno high so they obviously understate power (as German manufacturers often do - they do the same with acceleration figures too).
Or am I missing the chance to look for a conspiracy

So 135 german kW = 147 japanese kW. Double the mark-up on german Nm vs japanese Nm.
I've also read similar about Golf GTis,Polo GTis, Megane RS etc etc reading high on dynos.
Or is it the Japanese that tend to overstate their (normally aspirated) power figures?
put it this way, the 86 will never be overstated as it is a piss weak little 2.0, anything turbo can easily have a few more kilowatts here or there from the factory
arguing this is stupid anyway, anything from dyno brand, country, temp sensor location or other correction factors can skew it enough to annoy the internet, the mini has more power, as it should.
Yes, when I think "chivalry" and "old fashioned values" the image of choppo choke raping an obese drug addict on the side walk at 3 am instantly comes to mind.
So... the elephant says to the camel "why do you have 2 boobs on your back?" the camel replies "that's a pretty stupid question coming from someone who has a dick on his face"
Side note if any 86 owning PF'er would like a front brake upgrade (in particular GT owners), I have a complete FHI 4 pot setup ready to go with: Fronts will go from 277mm to 295mm.
Brand new pads, almost new rotors (Subaru OEM) and I set of worn slotted rotors (still has a 1mm left on it).
Also may off load the rear FHI 2 pots, again with brand new pads, brand rotors, custom dogbones etc.

The other upgrade kit is stupidly expensive as well.. and yet I'm sure they will still sell plenty!
my whole front setup with FHI 4 pots came in under $700. The Brembo setup with 326mm rotors good pads braided lines and seal kit will owe me around $1700 max.
