Yep, they have the "kangaroo paw" design of venting.

Talk about hoarding coming good. Had some almost brand new slotted Brembo Sport rotors and Brembo OEM rotors left over from the STi. Only problem is they are drilled for 5x114.3. Then I recalled that DBA is now doing these rotors in multi fit, ie 5x100 and 5x114.3, so call the local brake place and hey presto rotors ready to go on the 86.
Also had some near new DS2500's in the garage as well as some brand new TRW pads I purchased from GSL years ago but never go around to putting on.
All up very happy today basically saved about $800 in pads and rotors for the front Brembo conversion.
Now just need to put a seal kit thru it and get the bleeders swap over.
PS: If anyone need seals I got from from KNSBrakes in the US for $70 delivered for both callipers I think Subaru wants ~ $200 for these.

Yeah looked into that. Brembos will owe me $1150 max with seals, bleeder swaps, machining rotors etc. way ahead. If didn't have the pads a rotors lying around then the Alcons would have made sense. A member here is also selling Alcons cheap too but you need to factor in pads and rotors, so buying brand new is a good option.
I think mrt of all people may have a good deal on brand new Brembo front conversion. From memory may have been around the $2500 mark.

So these arrived today

Very impressed, ordered Thursday in my hands 7:30am Monday. Don't think I could get stuff quicker from any Aussie dealer even if it was sitting on the shelf.
So with all parts now at at the ready just have wait for the engine to be built, then it's showtime.
Also grabbed on on these:

16mm compared the factory rear 14mm bar. Should go alright to stiffen the rear a little.

Yeah the rubber bushes will go for poly. Got it just to stuff around with to see how much it will change the rear. Was cheap enough.Originally posted by Hunter S Johnson View Postwhat's that? looks like a swaybar only thinner. if those bushes are rubber replacing them with some hard ass poly should give a bit more firmness too.

OK feel free to shoot me down here. But I really would like to run 17x8 wheels, and so happen to have 6 STi Enkei's here in the garage. But they're 114.3. Redrilling not an option, hub conversion out of the question (fronts can't be done yet) 17x8 in 5x100 is bloody hard to find.
So that leads me too.... (yes i know spacers are bad.... but)
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2456386
These really look the business, japanese made, hub centric, only 10mm (available in 15mm too). Considering the STi Enkei as a +53 offset, I reckon with a 10 or even 15mm adaptor they would sit reasonably flush with the guard.
So legalities aside, is this a bad idea, would a spacer like this get lead dissater at the track?
From what I can see the weight and alignment of the wheel and the adaptor is still being carried thru to the axle and the studs are just there to keep the wheel in place, unlike lug centric adaptors, so what is so bad about this?

5x100?? What do you have them on? I guess since I have 6 wheels sitting here if the idea is OK, I would use the Enkei as track wheels.Originally posted by Rona View PostEnkei does a tonne of 17 x 8 in +35 offset, I have a set on my car if you'd like to trial fit one to make sure they clear before spending coin.
I would probably go for the 15mm to be on the safe side, I still need the check if they're "bigger nuts", sent off query to supplier.Originally posted by Ben Wilson View PostThe concept is OK, but those tiny little nuts worry me a little. They look like they only have 6mm or so thread engagement which could be a concern.
The thing is if it's a goer I don't minding spending $400ish delivered as long as I don't see a wheel rolling off into the distance.....
