They can do with a bit of lowering and 20mm is about right, will still be legal, shouldn't give any daily driver issues (standard they scrape less than a stock current model civic) and is about right for the geometry. I agree with crimespree about the spring choice, those are the two best choices right now and as much as the fronts of the RCE's is high they are the lowest at the rear. I don't see any issues daily diving on those springrates and doubt that you'd feel much difference at all though if you were looking for a bang for buck setup I'd get the RCE's and the koni's. The 86 is a bit slow transferring weight so those springs will help a lot.

Before you get the springs make sure you get something for the woeful front camber and I would be changing the front/castor bush in the front control arm as it does get a bit squirrelly under brakes.

I would avoid that event for the shithouse photoshop alone.

Can't be long before they have their EOFY clearance sales for excess stock

Interesting comment from Aus Head Subaru bloke.

An anticipated rush by older ‘empty nesters’ looking for a weekend toy had been smaller than anticipated, with young buyers dominating.

Mach V springs look like a nice combination of drop/spring rate

                ~20mm drop front, 25mm rear

3.2kg front, 4.5kg rear, gives a spring ratio F/R fairly close to stock, a lot closer than some other spring sets

i'm of the opinion that well off 'empty nesters' dont want a $29,990 toyota and would rather something of the lines of a $50k+ VW Eos faggotry

yeah, originally 140 extra... now 200 extra. The extra extra 60 cars is about 2 months normal allocation.

200 extra cars is about 5-6 months extra allocation squeezed into 2 months.

ah ok, extra extra is good then!

here lies my problem, with the wheels i have there will be no room to add camber via crash bolts (17x9+45 is tight against spring)
I would have gone the same wheel in 8 inch but these do look about a 1000 times better
so to add camber i will therefore need adjustable strut tops, the only adjustable ones i would consider are the whitleline but then the cost of these and springs means i might as well just get a set of coilovers and add camber with crash bolts

for now i guess ill just put on the wheels and see how it is. I'm sure it will be fine if it doesn't look too awkward. I am not Juan Manuel Fangio but it will probably need it, see below. picture take from above and below for each doesn't do any favours for the std height shot....
