RPF1s? Look good on the 86! The only problem is my red AW11 has RPF1s, if I had a red 86 on the same wheels it would be a bit odd!

I'll push this plan to the back of the car list, I think. Though it's good to hear the comfort isn't that much worse.

Saw a Cusco stickered 86 at Lakeside on the weekend; as they were only doing the morning practice there were no times published. Anyone know how it went?
I'd also be interested to hear what times are being done around Lakeside by the 86/BRZ.

        OK question on suspension/coilovers etc.

I'm only using the stock setup, with TEIN Luxury spec (or whatever they're called) springs I bought from Cracka and slightly thicker rear bar. And after taking it to the track it really didn't feel lacking to me.

So what is the difference like with a good C/O setup. Night and Day ?

It depends on the coilover. Good setup would be night and day, like MCA's, shit stuff like BC/tein/whatever would be same same as stock and a bit sorer kidneys.

Just looking at these again, under 30k for a BRZ with under 20k kms on it. Will wait till they're $20k in a year or so before considering.

The ugly stock wheels and 4WD ride height on mine are annoying me a bit, but it's actually my sensible car and I need it to get places. I think I need TE37s and MCAs!
I use the reds and you can notice that it's stiffer but it's a lot less crashy than the stock setup. So for example you will feel the click of a seam on the road more but you can go over speedhumps quicker as it doesn't smash the bumpstops and throw the car about. Personally I don't turn the coil overs to a softer setting when daily driving.

yep RPF1, i think there is a lot be said for understated 86s, especially now that so many are plasti dipped

Get another set, they'll never look odd! maybe a different colour!

              here's another shot to convince...

I have just clicked over 20 Ks in over 2 years - at a cross road of either getting a super charger/turbo or sell it to get aSTI. Harder to think about selling everytime you drive it in anger/or on wet roads.

The RPF1s are about the only wheel that does look good in a 17 on the 86. I think I'll wait until my back tyres mysteriously run out of tread first.

yep and the 17x9s look a LOT better than the 17x8s, they have a completely different face.

27k for me in 20 months but I've been out of the country for 9 of them. Probably 80% of those k's have been out in the sticks having fun, it's just a wonderful car to head out for a day and drive country roads. The vast majority of the time I don't miss the lack of power but on some hill climbs or when overtaking I do think back somewhat wistfully about the old goblin. It's fine for now but if they release a more powerful version (be that supercharged, turbo or bigger engine) there's a good chance I'd change for that.

I tune that car, but don't know what times it did. It has a Bullet (Sprintex) supercharger. They have entered it into Time Attack, but it won't be as quick as others in the class.
                        Happy Christmas

I'm also looking at an STI next time around, so I know the feeling! 25,000km and 18 months in, still pray for rain. Having a kid to carry around may change that though.

                            18 months in, 20,000km here.

still a great daily. long doors can be a nuisance. not suuuuper comfy on long trips.... but still shitloads better than a boring commuter.

still will sell for a C63 when i can.

                            great car though.

I can trade you an STi for it

Having 6 years ago gone from a MX5 for a STi, I'll always miss the MX5 and want another but I doubt I'll ever feel the same about the STi. My point being given the BRZ/86 seem to be rated as a more practical MX5 I would expect the feeling would be the same doing the BRZ/86 to STi swap.

                                Cliffs:

                                WRX is fast
                                BRZ is slow
                                WRX more practical
                                BRZ more fun
