Note that it wasn't discomfort due to actual physical jarring, it was a mechanical sympathy thing; it felt like the wheels were buckling at every road imperfection, and it sounds like the car in question will have more interior rattles than our 20yo Commode in another year or two of usage on the same crap suburban roads.
But I also don't think I'm qualified to comment overall, not without sampling the softcock option.
Nah, thats why for banging around country roads you get coil overs from someone who is a god with rally car suspension. Interestingly when I pulled the stock suspension out at ~14,000km 3 of the 4 dampers were leaking. MCA gear is fine

Maybe on stock suspension, on coil overs with stiffer springs I'd go back to standard ARB's. The roll isn't an issue with a bit stiffer springs and you really don't want the arb's picking up the inside rear because you've got a torsen diff. My big complaint about the stock spring rates was the front was too soft, too much weight transfer to the front under braking/corner entry and way to slow to transfer weight across the front wheels when changing direction.

Nah, I'm old an soft now. I even have heated seats and sat nav and dual zone climate control and stuff.

Do you get any rubbing at all with the 17x9s?

Is that part # 41201-19557 for a Mk3 Supra or something?

Fuck you have changed. Though probably for the best, don't think you can change spark plugs on the side of the road in one of these as easy as the S14.

Yes, but a Subaru is far less likely than a Datsun to leave you on the side of the road.

Had one of these as a rental yesterday. Only 500kms on the clock. Made sure I followed the run in proceedure.
Quite bumpy ride on Brisvegas roads.

Clearance to the tie rod with 17s at +45 is limited. With a little toe in (how I prefer it for daily) there is no rubbing. It could on full lock and compression but that is rare. It's a matter of mm. +35 fit better but I originally wanted the +45s.

+40 would be my pick but not available in RPF1s

Not that it helps you now, but I can get the Essex kits for a lot less than that.

Yep for sure this only applies to an otherwise stock setup. But if you run a fatter front bar you solve the rear cocking a leg issue anyway. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other Im not a huge fan of massive ARB setups but i can see why someone would say it works on these cars as an initial cheap simple improvement.

No, no it doesn't. From memory couldn't find anywhere under $3500 landed at the time FWIW.

So looking at these currently. Is the GTS worth the extra money?

Pictures in here of all the differences. Up to you whether you want to spend the cash for the extras.

I would have liked the bigger brakes and HIDs of the GTS, but wasn't going to pay thousands more for the privilege.

how much bigger are the gts brakes? If the only performance difference is the brakes for 10k, I would be leaning towards the GT.

Idea on fair price for a 2013 GT or GTS ?

Negligible. I ordered a GT but ended up with a GTS. wasn't fussed, there are some nice toys. You could easily find GTS brakes if wanted. I pretty sure MY15 GT has the digital speed now. That is worth $5k
Price difference seems a bit higher now. $6.2k. I'm sure it was $4.8k when i got mine.

Quoting them up online is around 33k for the GT and 40k for the GTS.

Have you guys had any luck negotiating with Toyota on these? In the current market, do you think it's worth buying a low km model second hand? They seem to be overpriced considering the price you can buy new.
