Yep with appropriate pads and fluids it will be fine at std power levels. Production racers even get away with std callipers.

If it helps anyone, I ran a few weekends ago at EC (south) with stock brakes + DS2500 in the front. Surprisingly the brakes were good all day.

Possibly a different story on the full cct however.

Standard brakes have held up for me with QFM A1RM pads and decent fluid, at least at my level. QR Sprint 62.5

What made you pick 550hp as a target figure? You really think that's what this car needs?

There are guys who've made that sort of figure boosting the stock FA20, but they aren't what I'd call reliable

Some hero on another forum is claiming his neighbour does flash tunes as a sideline on the weekend and gets a reliable 300hp NA and 550hp with engine fitted with turbo kit.

Thought it sounds like bullshit was just asking.

Fair enough.

No way there getting 300hp out of a tune only, even if it's on a US dyno. Here in Oz, we're getting 180-200hp atw with E85, headers and tune. 550hp is achievable with a built and boosted FA20, but I wouldn't think they'd be reliable.

Went to a QLD 86 BRZ meet the other night to take in the exhaust sounds as im against making it sound like a WRX. Seems the Tomei headers with a straight through 2 /12 front pipe then standard exhaust is the easiest way to go. just dont know if i can be fucked getting it tuned after that then having to tune again if/when it gets forced induction.

anyone up your way do road tunes on a tightarse budget? Bloke that did my car hired a dyno for mine but offered road tunes as well.
