Good, the only way is to keep on their case. Pollies are used to fobbing people off with a one liner, keep putting the facts in detail to them and you win. Pollies hate situations that they can't squirm out of.Originally posted by cheapracer View PostApparently it didn't happen and we must all be dickheads ...
Dear Kram
Thank you for your email to Ms Nolan of 13 January concerning speed camera deployments during recent Queensland floods. Our office has received advice from the office of the Honourable Neil Roberts MP, Minister for Police, Corrective Services and Emergency Services, to assist in addressing the concerns you have raised.
The content of your email has been noted. The information provided from the internet forum does not include date, time or detailed location, and its accuracy cannot be verified.
Ms Nolan wishes to advise that speed camera and other non-essential traffic enforcement activities in Southern Region were suspended from Tuesday 8 January 2011, to provide the appropriate policing resources for flood response and recovery.
Ms Nolan encourages every Ipswich resident to visit the Queensland Police Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/queenslandpolice for up to date and accurate information on the Queensland floods.
I trust this information is of assistance.
Regards

Without a fine issued from that van your quest will unfortunately fail.
ALLMTR that's sad but I don't race or do stunts/ jumps cause that would be dumb without wearing a helmet.

These kids would all be alive if not for helmets.

Thanks straw man. Your personal experience is very sad but you have no way of knowing that the outcome would have been different if he had been wearing a little piece of styrofoam.

A drop in injuries happened because kids stopped riding bikes. This is sadder than a few injuries from not wearing helmets.

A; kids being ashamed to ride their bikes for fear of looking like a dick in a helmet?? Or..
B; the proliferation of Playstations/Xbox's/Internet availability??
My kids both have bikes (and helmets) but generally would prefer to watch foxtel or play online games than go for a ride...Originally posted by thecrackfoxI wanna put you in a dress and hurt you...

Forensic investigation into the incident concluded that there would have been no penetration of the skull and little, if any, bruising if a helmet that only met (not exceeded as most do) Australian Standards had been worn. The parents still ring me every week riddled with guilt. Believe what you want.Originally posted by bigmuz View PostThanks straw man. Does a forensic investigation normally make conclusions like that? Genuine question? I thought they analysed the physical evidence only? How could they possibly say whether a helmet would have prevented it?
I can only speak for myself in saying that I would ride if I knew I wouldn't get fucked in the arse for a $176 fine for not wearing the helmet that I detest. Maybe I wouldn't be 30 kilos overweight if I rode to work.
Oh yeah I have no problem imposing helmets on children anyways so it's a moot point.

So you'd rather be uncomfortably fat and unhealthy and possibly not see your own kids grow due to death from some obesity related problem than wear a helmet?Originally posted by bigmuz View PostI can only speak for myself in saying that I would ride if I knew I wouldn't get fucked in the arse for a $176 fine for not wearing the helmet that I detest.
