The $670 kit has the rear camber & toe setup - inner & outer for lower suspension than FE2.
    I guess that's the $150 extra.

Sux to be me LOL, car needs $1350 worth of suspension bits & a new set of tyres - there goes a lazy $2k.
Can't put any of it off - new tyres will get killed by the flogged suspension & tyres are far worse than I thought, needs the lot.

    Fucking dunnydores.

Mind you, hasn't done too bad - it's got 144000 kays on it now & I've barely touched it other than servicing for 40000k's, so I guess it's due for some $ spent.

Grab the revised VE strut top bushes and bearings (ask for MY10 gear) from Holden spares.

Plenty better than the Nolathane job and a million times better than the old VR-MY09 VE stuff. Would be a fair bit cheaper also.

          Cheaper?

We found those to be dearer! ($180 w bearings vs $160ish)

what makes you say they are better than the after market jobbies? (serious Q)

ah yeah, I can see the difference now. this "X" kit I have not bought before.

makes sense why it is a little dearer then!

I would never use pedders springs or shocks.

I endorse all the comments above, its surprising how much quieter and precise the whole car feels when everythign has been replaced.

Swaybars are arguably unnecessary, but probably because the K frame has to be dropped to do the front and not many workshops can be stuffed.

A good 4 wheel alignment also works wonders.

Whil you have the chequebook out, check the rack and pump carefully for leaks

Validation testing at the Holden proving ground.
The nolathane flogged out earlier (split) before the new bush did. Plus the nolathane bush requires the old bearing. The new bearing is much more durable than the old.

                          ah nice.

are we talking a "little" better or night and day between the new and the old bearing based nolathane ones?

cause there is night and day between the nolathane and the old ones!!

Not really. Monroe GTs aren't much better then the standard shocks. Pedders shocks are just Monroe GTs i believe.
For that price you should be able to get Monroe GT Sport, which are a much better shock then the 'regular' GT. Also consider KYB shocks which are more or less on par with the GT Sport.

I got Boge strut tops and bearings in my VY for $110 all up.
No idea how long they will last but definitely should ride better then Nolathanes.

Nothing really wrong with pedders, just very overpriced.

the Monroe's I'll be getting the quote on tomorrow are their premium offering, not just the stocko blue GT's.

Boge make the factory strut tops (The old and the new)

If it was me, i would be buying the new factory based strut tops just so i can use the new style bearing. The nolathane strut top wont make the old bearing last any longer.

New strut top and bearing will be quieter also. I dont like nolathane in a position where the bush is required to rotate at all.
