    No pubs trackside though.
I stayed at the Alpine Heritage the last couple of times at Wakefield. Cheap, clean amd does its purpose. We had a family room for $105/night between 3 people.... cheap as.

Stayed at the astor, had a shit night's sleep, I think next time I'll stay on the edge of town, not that there was anything much wrong with the room, but there seemed to be semi trailers coming and going at all hours. Food was A++ though!

Track day was good, did about 30 laps, got black flagged on my fourth lap for "drifting" in a frigging Evo! The track was mega greasy, and the fact that I had shit tyres on the back, plus the ACD was in "Snow", which it seems is fucking useless on a wet track, meant that I had one spin, and several completely sideways moments. I then switched the ACD to "Tarmac" as the track was drying, and had no further issues... :D Had a few good moments, and was regularly hitting 165-170 into the kink at turn one. Turn two was interesting, had to upshift to third on the way out of it, and again coming out of turn eight (which is where I had my spin earlier). Wakefield is a fun little track though, I'll definitely be back.

        Was a great day!
I was surprised how much grip I had with my R888's even in the wet in the Turbo Taxi, but coming out of the fish hook and onto the straight, your yellow Evo was leaving me for dead....and your tyres were shit too!

Yeah but your Falcon had grunt to spare going down the straight. Loved the front splitter and the black enkei's too.

Noticed the treadwear ratings on my tyres when I was checking the pressures at Marulan on the way home.

          Front: 220
          Rear: 340 :D

I think that may explain some of it...

              Peter and nelson...

I was the guy in the yellow rx7. Was a great day when the weather actually decided to not be a cunt and gave us a dry track.

First session was fucked, mega greasy track like you said. Resulted in terminal understeer at the fishhook and the hairpin on to the main straight and outrageous oversteer after turn 2 4,5 and 6 (thanks to a locked diff).

Dry was awesome again, had a few good sessions, until I blew my muffler off coming on to the main straight. Dodgy fix resulted in a trip to supercheap.

then it pissed down again in the arvo, i stayed for as long as i could, then bit the bullett with pretty much everyone else and packed up and left

Thanks to nelsonian for loaning me a few spanners. Doesnt help when you leave half your toolbox behind :wayned:

No probs with the spanners. Happy to help.
That little rx7 of yours was flying!
Got a bit of footage here half way in. Rest of the footage had the windscreen wipers on!

I'm planning to head out there again in early August. Will be trying Eastern Creek again June 23rd too.

Interesting watching that video, I could tell a few things. You were able to brake much later than I was (in part due to the vibration I had through the car from warped discs, but probably mostly due to me being a bit of a pussy ), you had a fair bit more grunt when your car got wound up down the straight, though I was surprised you didn't close up a bit more up the hill from turn 8. And I shouldn't have let you through into turn two at the end, I shoulda made you work for it up the hill :D

Still, twas great fun. Especially chasing that Mazda!

Oh and it was a GTS-T , unless you meant that shitbox R33. I saw said R33 on the back of a tilt-tray on the way home, just past Marulan, and lol'd...

PS I need to get me some Semi-Slicks and sort the brakes out.

They do it for newbies who havent been to the track before so they know where the apexes are...... right after asking what an apex is

They didn't have the hats out on Wednesday and the majority of drivers were newbs. Fortunately for me they decided to put the fast, experienced drivers in a small group of our own. All the Azn students in their turbo rice rockets feel intimidated other cars lapping 10 or 20 seconds faster.

It is a pity that insurance requirements prevent the WP management from providing any sort of track briefing or familiarisation
If you dig a hole and it is in the wrong place, digging it deeper isn't going to help.

Police warn that blow-up dolls are not recognised floatation devices.

                                was a decent day

jenna and i did about 80 laps by 1130

ran out of rear pads, no where in goulburn had any so packed up and was at the pub by 130

shame becasue it was a half rainy day ( where most of teh pussies go home and you get heaps of track time eg 80 laps by 1130).

was some interesting driving out there

                                lol
