And I shouldn't have let you through into turn two at the end, I shoulda made you work for it up the hill :D

Still, twas great fun. Especially chasing that Mazda!

Oh and it was a GTS-T , unless you meant that shitbox R33. I saw said R33 on the back of a tilt-tray on the way home, just past Marulan, and lol'd...

PS I need to get me some Semi-Slicks and sort the brakes out.
Thanks for the GTS tip! (I changed it on the youtube link.) It was spitting flames during gearchanges on the straight and I wasn't gaining in a straight line so it was a quick car!, plus his line were a bit better too. I really struggle down the hill and getting power down out of the fish hook and seem to lose most of my time there. Best time so far is still only a 1.13.1 when the car is capable of 1.11's easily. On this day it was mainly 1.15's to 1.25 depending on the water. (recorded via 5Hz GPS and software from Racechrono.com)

Re:tyres. If you are driving your evo on the road a bit and still want a decent track tyre, I reckon advan neovas ad08 or bridgestone re11's would be perfect for you. Always cheap from tirerack.com with this aussie $

Noticed the treadwear ratings on my tyres when I was checking the pressures at Marulan on the way home.

      Front: 220
      Rear: 340 :D

I think that may explain some of it...
Pete I was down there for the circuit club day on the 26th in my evo 9. My tyres are BF Goodrich GForce Sport with a treadwear of 320. I was able to crack a 1:12.8 on the day for my first time at the track. The secret I was shown was that I wasnt carrying enough speed through some corners and not braking as well as I needed to. My car isnt a monster so I was pleased with the result.

I am working on the vids and will post up when done.
I lack the open mind to believe in a lot of pretend concepts...like magic, or aliens, or reliable rotaries...also unicorns don't exist. Either you can accept those as scientific facts, or one of these Christmas's, you are in for a rude awakening when you discover Santa Clause isn't real

Cheers for the tips - yeah as the track dried out I got faster and faster, the thing that held me back the most was braking, I had a horrible shudder from a warped disc or two so I was braking much too early. Mid corner I was ok and out of corners certainly, but the couple of braking points I really lost time.

On the tyre thing - its not just that they are hard, its that they are shite! The dealer put Autogrip something something 107's on it. Biggest misnomer ever, shoulda called them nevergrip. I'll hunt up some better ones soon.
