Territory more capable vehicle than a prado ? your off your head ! Territory ,kluger et al are family shopping trolleys ,you could comfortably take a prado pretty much anywhere .Value is questionable too when you factor in resale and the fact you will be doing warranty work on any Territory you might own .Originally posted by Spoonfed View PostTowing:
Aurion max 1600kg

Kluger max 2000kg (and looks as bland and meh as every toyota. spew)
Rav Mardigra 1900kg for the V6
Prado 2500kg
Freeballer 2 2000kg
Territory max 2300kg RWD 2700kg AWD
Dunno but the Terry seems to be the best value and most capable? Also buying locally keeping some coin here too.

Agree! Prado is a good thing. Would love to upgrade the 80 series to one.Originally posted by ironhorse View PostTerritory more capable vehicle than a prado ? your off your head ! Note the ? mark..... it was more of a question....... I don't tow cars just other shit so I don't have first hand exp with various cars doing this.Originally posted by ironhorse View PostTerritory more capable vehicle than a prado ? your off your head ! Also releated to value/pricing but doesn't seem would be heaps in it.
$60k for entry prado GX diesel, $55k awd terry $50k rwd (diesel).
Not sure of the prices some mentioned earliery, maybe getting down from the 'list' price is easy on em?

No doubt the prado is good thing but you're not really comparing apples to apples. Other then the obvious mechanical differences there is a significant price difference, say 20k at least.Originally posted by ironhorse View PostTerritory more capable vehicle than a prado ? your off your head ! It's also worth noting that there is a very good chance you'll be spending time at the dealer with the prado, just like the territory. I'm sure a few blokes can chime in with the injector horror stories and I even read about some cracked chassis/bodies.RB26......................Again

Yes the prado will be more capable off road if that's the requirement? Terry doesn't have low range (that I know of). I have seen an AWD suprise the shit out of a few '4x4' blokes on the beach though, got through where quite a few others failed, was funny as. Mined you I think a fair bit was driver abilty.
Not sure how unreliable the new terry will be? I don't think the old ones are that bad part from rust in the tail gate rubber (seriously in a new car, a derrrr), diff bush etc over time etc. You'd think they would have addressed these things but who knows with Fraud.
No idea about the prado issues mentioned above. I think there is almost a level of 'fanboy' generalisation about Toyota's reliablity/build, sure they make decent cars but they aren't perfect, and some of them look/feel down right nasty and cheap inside.
