Touchy subject - engine failure on dyno

In my opinion, generally too many professionals are taking advantage of the lack of warranty on atleast their workmanship. It seems that once they have been paid the majority will deny any fault even without first diagnosing it.Breaking stuff once is ignorance, twice is stupidity, three times is racing

Tune on low boost and then some competition. Is it possible that the owner could have tweaked the boost (ie, blocking actuator hoses, etc) in an attempt to get more boost? Then managed to run it beyond the original tune, trashed it, put back to std, hope tuner will break it, tears, blame, etc.
Does the tuner use any form of knock detection when tuning?
Is there back ground data logging of tuning?

the owner wont even change his own oil , maybe spark plugs now and again , and im the only person allowed to work on his car.Originally posted by elfturbomax View PostMore info required.

I doubt, with any modified engine the builder or tuner can be held liable, that is unless there was obvious neglect overly overly enthusiastically tuning practices employed.
The whole point of the subject is essentially too place more stress and produce more performance than a manufacturers standards.
this wasn't a recent build, it had been driven and raced for an extended period.
I think if the owner had the shits about it for more than a couple of hours he should take up quilting.
For the sake of it, at a recent dyno tune i had done recently, I was encouraging my tuner to take risks he wasn't entirely comfortable with,
We ended up negotiating some middle ground
And I understand who made the call, and if there is a failure, exactly who is responsible.Originally posted by Mr Purple;
What is with that smell every time you walk into an Aldi?
I'm assuming it's something to do with all the cardboard boxes. Smells like eastern Europe, the fall of communism and peasants.

i've had a car blow on the dyno. just the joys of playing with modified cars.
I was pushing the tuner to make more power. was an engine failure not his fault.
with the next engine i just gave him the keys and said make it safe with good power.
he did a great tune that was a bit safe and according to his dyno a tad lower than expected. but after i drove it up the street i realised that even with less power it was way quicker than before, more responsive and better on fuel.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

theres no variables when it comes to afr's its either right or it isnt.Originally posted by morerevsm3 View PostI give a full 12/20 warranty on race engines....12' or 20 seconds, whichever occurs first
too many variables, like heat range of plugs, squish shape in combustion chamber etc that 1 or 2 more psi can put it over detonation thresh holdMobile Suzuki Specialist : www.facebook.com/suzukimechanic . Please like/share my page.

What ecu?
That's shit power for a built turbo 1300.
If it's leaning on two cylinders is it a fuel distribution problem or just a dead pump problem etc....
Is this a moral question or a tech question?
Morally, you give a fuck so you have done the right thing. Technically, you've told us nothing so none can help and you probably know more than most cunts here anyway so why ask.
