It's generally pretty obvious whether it was an assembly or mechanical problem first time it goes on the dyno. Not for rotors though- that is why they are the devil's work.

taking shit out of context much?Originally posted by dave View Postso pistons just melt at random is due course ?
with your line of reasoning . if i install a fuel filter and forget to put the hose clamp on , and it blows off and your car catches on fire and burns to the ground , that is due course and im not to be held responsible , hey it was running fine and you thrashed it before you bought it to me ....
i said i thought the pistons melted due to tune.
you replied crapping on about how by that reasoning you could leave the oil out of a freshly built motor and no warranty.
i replied you would still be liable.
now your crapping on about leaving a fuel filter undone? of course your fucking liable.
the situation in your original post is completely different to just being plain negligent. by the sounds of your first post, you built the engine properly, BUT ENGINES DONT GO BANG FOR NO REASON. therefore after a run in and a good flogging, the onus would be well and truly off you!

Ive seen poor home built engines built using all the best info forums offer, Guys with itchy fingers that play with their tune/ Boost controllers etc and even miss matched injectors along with thousands of other possible things to kill engines but its always 100% the Tuners fault.
Luckily blow ups are still quite rare given the number of Dynos around now.GURU ENGINEERING PTY LTD

ohh yeah another thing was a problem with the injector drivers , the car was making the biggest horsepower for a n/a street car for 4 years , and then the tuner identified a problem with the drivers after it had been to many other dyno shops. the problem has since been rectified .Mobile Suzuki Specialist : www.facebook.com/suzukimechanic . yep no warranty on dyno tuning, you play you pay.. as i said ill help them out but wont pay for anything..Originally posted by dave View Postim not saying this is the case , but what if you missed something or did a shit tune , you still just wipe your hands of it ?
surely a car that run on an ignition system that was barely capable of igniting the charge under high boost would have a different ignition curve to a system that was quite capable of igniting it on a shitty 4 cylinder engine.
what it comes down to is combustion temps in my eyes , how do combustion temps rise enough to melt a piston ? (ps i know the answer)
yep if you have melted pistons its from one of two things but you already know thatim a cunt
and apparently i dont know shit...

but in this case that isnt it , he has spent over $30000 on the car now , if i tell him he needs it he will just buy it , all parts are top qualityOriginally posted by Supashake View PostIve seen poor home built engines built using all the best info forums offer, Guys with itchy fingers that play with their tune/ Boost controllers etc and even miss matched injectors along with thousands of other possible things to kill engines but its always 100% the Tuners fault.

it probably started to hurt things at that point, you/owner then decided to up the ante after a year of track use and hurt rapidly turned into a disaster.Originally posted by dave View Postohh yeah another thing was a problem with the injector drivers...

you cant read very well can you , it was n/a then , when it went turbo the tuner picked the injector prob up within minutes and it was rectified on the very initial dynotune after it was turbo'd (engine had been fully rebuilt again and decompressed)Originally posted by thechuckster View Postit probably started to hurt things at that point, you/owner then decided to up the ante after a year of track use and hurt rapidly turned into a disaster.Mobile Suzuki Specialist : www.facebook.com/suzukimechanic . just kidding....I know you wont.....I'm not interested in HP anyway. As long as i can run it all day long on pump fuel and get a lazy 400>450 and 500+ on the methanol I'll be happy.Toys List
