I think in the turbo form, the tiptronic is quicker than the manual around the nordschliefe or something

Are you seriously comparing a 996 to a mazda 6?

this is Forg you must remember

the modern PDK ones seem to be fine but none of that seems particularly right to me

Can't comment on the Porsche tiptronic specifically, but having had a DSG Stage 2 GTI, I found it boring and uninvolving, which would be precisely the reasons not to have one on a 911.

I'm more about the overall driving experience than it being a bees dick faster 0 - 100.

              This.

Givafuk if the thing is a few tenths faster as a triptronic unless you are the sort of cockfondler that loves to sprout numbers down at the pub to bignote yourself.

Driving experience > outright speed EVERY FUCKING TIME.

i don't even really like dsg on golfs etc.

it's grown on me a little, so instead of absolutely fucking detesting it as i did initially, i can put up with it if i need to

but it is a long long long way from being good.

thats true but think how much a complete manual gearbox for a porsche costs

G50s are quite expensive and i believe these predate the 993?

How many of you guys hating on them have driven them?

I have, there's nothing wrong with the tiptronic, but the manual version is nicer to drive.

The 6spd in the 993 is a version of the earlier G50 5spd. Dunno if they're a bolt-in proposition tho.

Is there a sequential kit available ala 997 GT3 Cup? That would be ok for an auto.
