Haven't heard a lot about the A6 or R6. Are these any good say compared to a Dunlop DZ03g or the like? They are quite a bit cheaper, even from aussie sellers.

the A6 is a motorkhana/hillclimb special, ok for 3 flying laps ...just
R6 is the full on circuit tyre, they are a lot faster than DZ03G, Ray Hislop ran them on his IP Falcon in sports sedan class last year at Sandown, against sports sedans (capt obvious) which all run full slicks...he came second, he also won the IP class on Jokahamas at the same meetingE36 M3 12.92 @ 108.64mph, N/A 3.0L

I've been using the R6 for quite a few years now. They work well when new, but like most tyres, after they've been through a few heat cycles they start to get a bit hard and harder to warm up. Other than that they do seem to last well, and for the money I thought they were great.
Been using them on a Commodore if that's relevant.

Wonder how the A6 would go for four hot laps around Lakeside? My car is not hard on tyres, it usually takes at least one hot lap to get the usual semi slicks working.Richard's DatsunZ lappin LakesidZ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47OSh...&feature=g-upl

Despite popular misconception the A6 is fine for quite a bit more than 3 laps. In the US there are guys with Corvettes running them in 1/2 hour races (amateur) and I've used them on the track more than once for trackdays. They will get up to heat faster than slicks. They are DOT legal but doubt they're street legal although there's a guy down here who drives with them on his mean looking Black AMG Merc + at the track.

Max Dumensny speedway guy, is the Aussie distributor, he will retail them as well,i have had Craig Hornibrook get in the historic spec street radials, they work quite well, plenty of grip right down to no tread left, the guys running larger say 15x8 rims on sedans ie Biante will run them down to nothing before chucking them.if you get this far after reading the above, good on you!

Well for me, a set of Dunlop's is costing me about $450 per tyre, whereas the hoosiers are around $100 less per tyre.Social media marketing for the automotive industry (plus a motorsport blog) - www.boxthislap.com.au
