hx55's are fucking huge though.. hx35/hx40's are what most people here would use, and you can pick them up aroun $200-400 2nd hand on ebay US

I was running a China turbo (I believe it was a Hypergear TR43) on my RB25 in the Silvia and had no problems at all. Gave the car a good thrashing, and it was used for daily duties for quite a while. Not sure on power levels, but I was running it around 0.9bar. My cousin just got is RB25 Sil80 back from being tuned. Uses Hypergear TR43 as well I think and it made 304rwhp on 14psi. Once it is rego'd and driving, and also been to the track, we'll see if it is any good.

A HX55 is equivalent to a Garrett GT55. That's a 1500 hp turbo maxed out. Rotormaster used one on their Pro Turbo RX7. There has been some china Holset HX-52's JUST come about from Jiu-mu/ebay stores, still looking at sub 1k for one. Perfect for a 2jz with cams thought
HX35 or HE351 is where it's at for most people, HX40 at most.
As "MRMOPARMAN" said, you can get a hx35/hx40 for 200/400+shipping, which works out to be 400-700 USD.
It's the CFM that counts, not the HP rating.

Kando turbos are pretty decent quality. I'm running one on my SRE30. Have been pulling 24psi regularly, EGT's over 1000 degrees C. Basically giving it all hell. Not even looking like failing or any shaft play (touch wood). Really impressed with it.
a TD06SL2 has full boost (20) on the SR20 at 3500rpm!

Dude has said he could do a deal on gt42 turbos. They are OEM replacement stuff for Steyr, Volvo and DAF. The Volvo on is a Holset replacement and the others are Garret replacements. Will get a price for 5 of each and go from there. :D

Just got of these and arrived this morning, looks and feels godo quality. My only concern is lack of any balancing marks/evidence.
