all photos are to be time/date stamped too, not that that really makes a difference.

it's certainly makes things a lot more of a cock around, which would be the reason for the increase of prices.

the worst thing is getting an absolute clagger come in and approve to have everything repaired. it'll have tens of photos taken of defects/repairs.

That would be great... or a link to their site if it's on there.

as far as i'm aware, it's not online. it was sent/is being sent to all rwc testing agents.

the increased cost "apparently" comes from teh IT infrastructure required by a RWC tester, "training" for the new requirements of all staff performing the tests etc etc.

My mail says its been implemented in response to flagrant flouting of RWC guidelines by testers clearing defects, and to slow the spread of "unroadworthy" cars (especially late model stuff)

Probably just a pain in the arse for a car with a pod filter and zorst, an anal raping for anything with more "permanent" mods.

I still reckon the next stage is to increase penalties for people who return to standard for the test then get pinged for exactly the same mods a week later...

if vicroads were to do things properly, if a car was defected a week after it had had defect cleared, they would ask for photos from the rwc agent. If they've done as you say greenhj and returned it to muzza spec, uou're right. They should get fucked hard.

Surely this is a hoax email that is being circulated around?
This can't be real, can it?

Change of that magnitude would require industry & stakeholder consultation in the public domain , a regulatory impact statement with a cost benefit analysis and more than likely legislative change. I can't see it happening without it being all over the web at least 6 months in advance and it quite clearly isn't.

no, it's real. My brother in law has equipped for it. Intended to stop dodgy operators and people who change things after RWC. Simple enough with modern tech.

thing is with yearly inspections in NSW.... if you have a few mates in the industry you can get shit pink slipped (passed) for the std. rate of $30 in 15 mins no issue

and it only affects cars older than 5yr anyway

if you're like many people who piss the car off after lease you won't know what a 'pink slip' is

there is no distinction between "unsafe and unroadworthy" and "unroadworthy by definition" and guess which group are going to be penalised the greatest?

a new and shit era for sensibly modified (but not quite legal) cars in victoria...

                            Question:
How long is a RWC valid in Vic ?

                                28 days Q

A lot can be changed on a roadworthy car in 28 days post inspection without the issuers knowledge.
