It would be the swede's fault.

They'd get caught doing stupid shit and tell the cops that they bought their GT42'd VL turbo with a rwc and they hadnt touched it since.

Ive "heard" of issuers hanging onto the paperwork for a couple of weeks before passing it on to a vehicle owner (for the reasons given above) so im not sure if this (alleged) practice is altered by the new regs.

Photos make certain things difficult (which i guess is the intent)

I expect at some point the vastly broadened hoon laws will allow confiscation after x amount of roadworthy infringements...(tin foil hat time)

There is an a small article in today's Herald Sun - can't find it online.

Looks like a bit of a beat up by the VACC - increase cost to $130 is referred to.

Pics of outside of car, VIN and of car on hoist with wheels removed. No engine bay pics from the sound of it.

Designed to weed out dodgy rwc issued when car has not even been to that workshop.

Mechanics warning that increased paperwork will increase the cost of rwc.

Not the end of the world.

apparently vicroads were on the radio this morning stating that there's no reason for a price rise.

I think you'll find that the smaller workshops will be putting there prices up so they don't have to worry about all the extra shit.

                    Article is on p19.

"Vic Roads states at least four photos must be taken during an inspection, including one of the whole vehicle, one of the VIN, one of the odometer reading at the time of the test and a photo of the vehicle on a hoist to show the brakes have been inspected...The changes are to prove the vehicle was inspected on the premises and the vehicle is actually roadworthy."

I did forget one key thing here didn't I-its VicRoads. Like the now defunct NSW RTA on steriods, they are a law unto themselves.

Given the history of hoon laws, greed cameras, pay for agreed policy outcomes studies from Monash.

                            no probs.

A lot more cars are failing for tint now that the glass meter is mandatory aswell.

I am trying to find more information on the recent updates on roadworthy requirements. I have got the article from herald sun, but not having much luck finding anything on radio discussion from vicroads.

What radio station was it on?
