Right. Funny you should mention the cayenne, too...I drove quite a few recently thinking it would be a good family wagon (2 little kids), but it would definitely have to be turbo as it's just such a lard-arse. And basically for the money required to get a decent low kms one here in CH, I was a lot better off going back to an audi wagon which is also about 10 times easier for the nopics to drive and park, before even talking about running costs...will look again later, for the next upgrade. I'd imagine the porkers might be cheaper in deutschland.

So what is Mercedes parts and service pricing like in Der Fatherland? Is it like taking a Commodore to a Holden dealer here? i.e. expensive, but not as outrageous as say a prestige import?

                      bread and butter

id say theres a slight premium, but the car parts and service market is generally a little cringey regardless or marque

battery was flat in the 430 i looked at today, so no broom-broom love.

fucken pretty tidy car to sit in though. seats and cockpit is very nice. somewhere between family sedan and race cockpit. snug feeling, but spacious. seats are cofy but suportive, ultra adjustable.

will need to breed a special population of anorexic midgets to even think of using the back seats for human transport. i think seats are maybe just a nice way of upholstering the rear cabin wall?

boot is big, not too shallow.

                        stance is awesome

this particular one ill give a wide berth tho. 135k km, spots of rust, worn, and sad looking. was close by though, so was convenient to see. might make the trip (150km) to go check out the one i pictured above (80k km, looks minty)
                        Mit freundlichen Grüße

engine: 275hp only (4.2L v8 wtf?), auto 5sp. stats say 6.1 0-100, and a few reviews support that. everyone comments on its totally unimpressive launch feeling, but it does keep going when you put the pedal down. fuel economy is averagely good. (edit, weight is 1450kg from what i can dig up. S430 weight is like 1880kg!)
Are they really only 1450kg's? Seams very light for a merc. the cl55 is like 1900kg's. Much better engine, but soo much more weight

Q7 2.7 Turbo Diesel if you're looking at the Cayenne? i always thought diesels were gutless but those things just feel awesome off the lights (go drive one and see what i mean)

A8 4.2 V8 would be nice too.. but $$$ when the suspension airbags collapse
