Fitzy's FC would be my pic...Originally posted by ChrisS View PostSo what would you have picked?
and from the limited pics i have seen that monaro ^^^^ that's pics are posted here would give it a bloody good run for its money if not be better.
That gold Kingswood is bloody sharp too but lacks the modifications of the coupe.
I dont know if it was there but Cowins Mopar would be better too...

What I find most amusing about this thread, and it's consistent with PF, is that it is always the circuit boys who can't appreciate a drag/show car.
Yet you'll find that all the drag guys will always appreciate decent circuit cars.
It's a bloody top quality car, and kudos for him doing what he obviously has a passion for. I remember chatting with Adam at the first or second Powercruise when he had just finished the EH. He was pissed as he brought the car up to the QR only to be told that he could enter as the car wasn't registered. Looking at the workmanship back then, his car was mint and he seemed like a nice bloke too. I think he'll be successful in achieving what he is setting out to do. And best of luck to him. I can well and truly appreciate the car even though not everything is to my liking.
And all those banging on about the car will never see the road, yadda yadda, you all seem to appreciate Scott's KE20 (no offence Scott
), yet it can't be driven on the road? I'm pretty sure the XC will probably put more miles down than the Corolla.
The customer.

I knew i recognised this name, Back in the day when i was a first year apprentice sheety, I helped a dude from work make his floorplan for his eh holden, The guy from my work was his step uncle and this was a complete faggot, ended up quoting to magazines that he fabricated all the shit the dude from work made for him himself, and after a few arguments disowned his whole family, Last thing i remember was him opening up a customs shop down the coast i think, one of the biggest wankers I have met before.

I love the XA-XC coupe range, the buldge in the bonnet does nothing for me i would rather see a nice flat bonnet, the cage stands out too much, and sits to low in the photos. And that exterior only. I also think that under the bonnet looks like it has too much shit going on, since its all the same colour a few different colours would have done wonders under the bonnet.
He has built 1 hell of a car, im sure he could sell it in yank land, dare i say start buy XA-XC shells more so the 2 dooryou cant spell advertisements without semen between the tits

What ever ya douche canoe.... I can appreciate any type of vehicle, fuck I would like a lawn mower if it is tricked out to my taste...
But look at the monaro above, that guy can work out how to make a bonnet restraint without resorting to fucking bonnet pins and can manage to make the bonnet and boot stay up without the need of some sticks to hold them up for fuck sake... The XC is a tidy car but nothing that is ground breaking to me...

What sort of a comment is that ... Adam builds show cars for a living, if he had built it for someone else it would have cost a squillion so what's the fucking difference.Originally posted by MoparGus View PostCowins Mopar had a squillion dollars thrown at it and should not be compared to something like this built by the owner.
Im sure he payed for some things to be done on the car, so tell us where do you draw the line between built and payed ??? that's a whole new argument.

I have had a show car, a 6 second drag car and am now building a circut car so should i like it or not ???Originally posted by Paydirt View PostWhat I find most amusing about this thread, and it's consistent with PF, is that it is always the circuit boys who can't appreciate a drag/show car.

And Adam's car is built Pro Touring style so one would asume you are not classing it as a drag/show car ???

That Falcon Coupe is the adjudged best custom 'Pro Touring' car of it's ilk in Australia?
It's had a some time put into it and on a budget, and somebody has a beading roller and flanging dies, but the lack of attention to important engineering detail and the attitude to safety if it is actually driven indicates a gung-ho, immature mindset. Sort of like a big, juiced up, narcissistic bodybuilder posing down in front of the mirror. All form, no function.
I suppose as photographed it is work in progress. Ford Australia were never able to get the coupes to an acceptable build quality themselves because they were so hard to make, so this one is continuing the tradition.
The carby trumpets look like they will choke on the bonnet and the aluminium fuel lines are touching the head- with no return they are guaranteed to vapor lock.
The suspension rocker mounting point is on an unsupported length of tube.
The pivot capscrews have little cringeworthy doodad covers and full height nuts.
That assembly is crying out for the builder to look at a proper race rocker arm and to use low profile, high strength double shear aircraft bolts. Have to be worth judging points esp. if they were Ti.
Be good if there was some adjustment showing on the pushrods and the main pivots look suspiciously like they are just through bolted with no bush or bearing.
The front disc visible in the photo is on backwards.
Epic fail with the bonnet engineering- a couple of concealed torsion springs on the hinge would have been worth the couple of days work instead of not one but two ugly props
Stupid head dangerous seats and a dogs leg cage hoop. And so on.
If you want to see a decent custom Falcon with huge expended effort, incredible attention to detail, carefully customised sheetmetal, high quality components and functional engineering have a look at any of the current front running V8 Supercars. Seriously.Claimed horsepower sceptic.

Ill see your static pro-tourer and raise you:

Doubt the XC could do that.
Fwiw i dont mind the XC too much, but it still feels overdone, like most show cars. Then again im a function over form kinda guy when it comes to cars.Chris
