Now we're talkin! Have to be cheaper than any Nissan option short of the RB20 and make more power than an RB26 with less explody. It's a real shame the Barra hasn't been used in more crazy conversions. Seems like such a good motor especially considering the low cost of them.
Shame about the weight
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

Should be kept in mind when making suggestions that the S30 is a rear sump layout. For Xmember and rack clearance purposes the front of the sump needs to be quite shallow. Is eg the Barra a rear sumper? Also keep in mind that the original L6 is no lightweight, I believe that the SOHC Ford six for one is about the same weight.

But the n/a motors blow up pretty easy after 220rwkw's and then you have to buy valve springs etc to fix their short comings. I know as a mate has a shop that just deals with converting them. they are not a bad motor though. If you can find an lpg only one cheap they are much stronger
an rb20 would be a cheaper and better option just wont have the torque. Or even a very mild 25 with a 20 box as the actual 25's arnt worth stuff all

It's a major headfuck to get the XR6t motor to fit into the Zed engine bay.
It requires a whole new engine crossmember to be made, & the sump modified as well
as the oil pump is located where the crossmember goes through.
