20 people could organize if the mission was a failure to make it out like it was a success. So in fact the landing never happened, but everyone went through the motions and believed that it did. Watched and read quite a bit on this subject.

Alot of these theories that say we didn't go to the moon forget to tell you
we walked on the moon 6 times (Apollo11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17) and got to lunar orbit 9 times Apollo 8,10,11,12,13,14,15,16 and 17.
Also people seem to forget about Projects Mercury and Gemini before Apollo.

Now everyone is trying to get to the moon to mine it for Helium 3 its the only thing worth going to the moon for. (gold isnt even worth bring back if it was on the moon.)

thats too general, you arent thinking it through enough. You are starting with "yes you could do it" but not what is involved. Thats the usual answer i see people come up with, but it doesnt address the question.

Seriously, think through all the steps. Exactly would have needed to be done if the landing was faked, what resources would be required, how many people, what would you need to do to keep it a secret (both at the time and in the future), and what evidence would you need today to show that it was faked. Not a few grainy photos or anomalies, what hard facts would prove beyond a doubt that the mission was faked?

Even in the case you are talking about, if you think it was a contingency plan, how do you hide the 'failure' if you are thinking that the mission failed somehow and they switch over to 'hoax mode'?

The big problems are the lunar rocks that all the missions brought back (the mineral structure and content of the lunar rocks are like nothing else on Earth, due to sitting for billions of years in what is effectively a total vacuum and having no protection at all from the solar & cosmic rays for the same reason. The Moon also has no strong magnetic field and that also shows up in the rocks and the way they are structured. True enough do to extreme events like asteroids impacting the Moon there are some extremely rare occasions where lunar rocks have left the surface of the Moon and been blown to Earth, but those rocks show signs of that happening and also being exposed to the atmosphere, etc) and the problem of the radio signals coming right from where they are supposed to have. It would be again effectively impossible to fake that.

Tricky.
I don't really know sorry but it would depend on who found it and with what. Most of the observations are made with civil gear by regular scientists and they would talk about it pretty quickly.

What I'd really like is exactly what Arthur Clarke wrote in 'The Sentinel' and later expanded on with '2001 A Space Odddessy'. That's where an advanced species plants a device on the Moon that can only be detected by us humans when we have the technology to get there and really explore around, which infers a certain level of intelligence and maturity and so would be pretty much ready for contact.

Creationism (or should i say, anti-evolutionism) actually has more evidence going for it than the moon landing hoax! At least there are glyphs/rock paintings that show humans with what look to be dinosaurs, so you could say that there is a reasonable starting point for investigation about whether the time line we all know is true. There is no genuine evidence for a moon landing hoax aside from "holy shit, they couldnt have done that!"

PS: i do not believe in creationism just showing how comparatively little evidence there is for the moon hoax :p

I reckon sheer terror alone might be enough to keep it secret, though there would be lots of rumour swirling around about it. The operation to try and bring it back might be more difficult to cover up!

God how shitfully awful was transformers 3. I actually saw a thread some fuckwit put up saying how it showed that you could fake video of people being on the moon hence the real landings were fake.
