Land Rover Evoque and Volvo use the same basic engine.

In various Volvos that weigh similar to a Falcon, they get mid 7s to 100 and low 8L/100km average.

Be interesting to see the weight loss with the ecoboost. Its got to be nearly 100kg lighter.

Why can't Ford come up with some decent fucking wheels for once.

              Looks brilliant to me.
              I like it!
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

They stick it in their trucks... so RWD seems certain

Yeah but I forgot that fact so it doesn't count.

What is the performance increase potential of the Ecoboost? Shove in a couple of grand and it will be keeping up with the the xr6t?

No way, at the end if the day it's a 2.0 motor with boost and some very smart engine management, you can shove in more boost and more fuel but honestly it's not going to be as pleasant to drive as the XR6T at the same power level.

Hmm, how much lighter would the ecoboost be - might be the handler in the range? If it came with a DSG it might be a good thing for a fang - would want to be a fair bit cheaper than the 4.0T thou, wonder how they'll manage that as it won't be a cheap engine :\

Isn't the whole purpose of the ecoboost to be the mainstream engine? Ie standard on the XT and G6 with the N/A 6 optional on them and standard on the G6E and XR6. Actually makes sense to me, 90% of buyers would probably be happy with the ecoboost while those that need the big 6 can still get it.

Isn't the ecoboost engine an option...you pay extra for it.
