Oh God ... don't get her a Saab, not unless this is intended to be a "fuck you & good riddance" gift.
Does one traditionally spend money on such gifts?

Regarding the C70 ... don't suppose you could show her the car before telling her what's on the badge?
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

I'm starting to come around on the C70. Looking like a viable option.

Is this a $10K threshold? or are you budgeting another $5000/yr after you buy an old $10K automatic turbo car?

R33 GTSt leaves plenty of cash left over for coke and hookers, could possibly get into an auto R34 GTt for around $10K if you low ball. At least the 34 would have factory skidz-control which might be good for the nopics.

I thought about this when we started seeing each other. Then I realised what good is a kitchen without food to cook?

Original outlay of ~$10k, whatever it costs to fix after that is her problem.

I thought R34s still commanded close to $20k? Will have to head over to SAU and low ball some cunts there then.

From what I read, something is most likely to go wrong with it if it's turbo ... if it's n/a then it's probably going to last forever (but then she probably doesn't want it because it's not turbo!).

A bit above your budget but a better car than most suggested.

                              Brembos etc into the bargain.

                              These things launch hard also.
Look at what they will stall up to before launch

I like the idea of the Saab, as long as you can do the work yourself and buy the bits overseas.
