you can use the cheater slicks in various forms of motorsport in the country that allow full slicks, or has no restrictions like basic track days. No form of semi slick motorsport allows them, not CAMS racing/sprints/hillclimbs class that require semis, not WTAC/Superlap, not Targa events...

What those 710's are is a slick with 2 lines in it, not a treaded tyre.

The fastest guys in the CAMS NSW Sprint series (GTRs) are using Hoosiers from what I understand. Probably because you can use slicks. You can use them in Club events but as mentioned it will put you into Open class against racecars using full slicks.
Perhaps not a lot of use to run them except they generally will come up to heat faster than a full slick and if you're doing a Time Attack type format (Not the event itself, agreed) it may be advantageous to run the A6s if you've only got one outlap, 2-3 hotlaps and a cooldown.

OK. Need some tyres for the Evo. Problem is that I run 205/40/70. I do low kms. Probably 2-3,000 a year. Whats the current hotness. Local tyre shop was trying to sell me Bridgey RE-002s. Any other suggestions?

Snot, can you fit 215/40? If so I can probably get you a good deal on FZ's or RSR's ... but they are a wide 215

                  Punch&Judy - yes lol. Should say 17.

Coffin - not sure they'll clear without scrubbing.

Regarding the Hoosier r6 , after many years running r888's and being very happy with them I've been allowed to run at my club events with the R6 without a roll cage being fitted and with approval of cams apparently . I'm still not allowed to run a full slick without a cage but it should give my lap times a boost .

Are the R888s a feasible road tyre on a car than doesn't do many kms? Say 2-3,000 a year?

They were for me on a 900kg Datsun. I didn't find them too bad in the wet.

I would say no , very noisy not a heap of grip when cold and when say half way through their life aqua plaining is a serious problem . I would recommend a Toyo R1R , I use these as my wet tyre and drive to the track tyre and they are really very good . Fairly quiet with excellent cold and wet grip and a genuine 8-10k of life in them .

                              Thanks Adam.

Any feedback on RE-002s? Are they close to a semi-ish tyre?
