i thought the event was well enough run - bit disorganised but it didnt appear to be anything more than a big show and shine. I liked that it was laid back. Hopefully i can get 50s Buick soon and join in the fun.

Indeed. It will be registered this year! Luckily Summernats was worthwhile with picking up some bits on special.

I think that baremetal XM was on ebay recently. At least the warts were on display.

^^^ the econolines came with the std ford six cyliner -out of the falcon, over (or in font of ) the front axle . they reckon they had a 175lb steel weight in the back - std from factory to stop the back lifting when unladen .

It will be on next year. Think it's been going for close to 10 years. There are actually a lot of cars. They introduced a new entry cutoff this year to keep numbers down and preserve the traditional vibe. It's not really about action it's about cruising and having a good time.

Apparently Friday night in cowes is pretty big and they have a street cruise and shit but I never get down that early. Did Saturday this year and it's a bit quiet. Sunday they usually fill the whole pit/paddock area with cars.

Now I have a mini Camma this sounds like the go. Might see if I can head down for this next year and squeeze in a trip to the Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motorsport (havent been for a couple of years now). Did they rebuild the pub in Cowes after the fire? Ah memories...
