It's got low K's, good condition and a fair amount of kit going for it, but I still don't want to part with $20K. He's also halved the boot space with the spare, so Wrangler's being the guzzling monsters they are, you can barely fit a couple of Jerry Cans in there once you throw some gear inOriginally posted by Uncle View PostJeev that Jeeps worth 14 or 15K max.

My Jeep has all that kit and more and although it has 60 more kls on the clock you can't tell. He wont sell it for that price.
This 10k cash.

Want a potential winch truck get a GQ, actually want to drive the thing get a 80 cruiser, takes 35s on 3inches of lift, no guard cutting required, h150f 5 speed manual goodness, 1hd-ft in the last of the 80s (won't get on for 10K though) decent low range even with 35s and standard diff gearing, whats not to like. Add twin air lockers and spend half of your 4 wheel driving snatching out lesser 4bys
(and stuck horse
, but that's a story for another time...)
I luv mine

I've spent a fair bit of time in/around both vehicles. Give both the same mods (twin locked, 35s, reduced gearing) and they'll be pretty similar in capability, TJ will have better diff clearance and can be made to flex more easily, GU would last longer with it's bulletproof driveline and diesel, and have better practicality with interior space. Up here the smaller size of the TJ is an advantage because of how tight the tracks are, results in less body damage. I'd consider the TJ more fun in a "hang out the door and pick where to position your wheels" way, and with the soft top/half doors.

why not contemplate a 2.8 hilux? twin locked on 33s will go everywhere a patrol on 35s will ( maybe easier ) and is a hell of a lot easier to find parts for and modify for a decent cost, you can get a turbo 2.8 hilux for around 8k easy, set of lokkas for $600 chromo axels and cvs for $750 and a set of reduction gears for $500.
i love my hilux and i can tell you know its shocked a lot of landcruiser/patrol drivers in thier heavily modified rigs
all bar the first video following is a with a fucked front lokka that hampered my steering REALLY bad

Id take an 80 series for a long drive before a GQ any day, and I'd take a GU over anything but a 2010+ 200 series.
But as an all rounder the gq wins imo.Originally posted by BosshoggettIf your planing to drive this on the road and enjoy it, id suggest a second opinion, someone with a history in Australian Rally or Fink River . If your just playing dyno comps. Then ok
