This. Test drove one the other day with a nopics friend of mine. Shat on the Rav4 we drove just before it from a great height and was 10k cheaper. Diesel makes over 400nm of torque! The koreans are set to kill this segment. Never thought i'd say it but if I was in the market for something like this I'd be going straight to Kia or Hyundai.Originally posted by Dimi80mm of penetration isn't bad, i wish i had that much.Originally posted by schnitzelburgerMy entire working career pretty much consists of suckin dick and takin names.

Im liking Kia products a lot, NOT the Hyundai equivilents...I cannot stand there 'Fluid' design philosphy.
Kia Sportage is a winner.
Hopefully the 204kw Kia Optima Turbo comes here

In Wagon form it would kick ass I reckon for a good looking family hack

also i would expect people will show some resistance if you try to move them from toy SUVs to hatches or wagons
strangely the CX5 is actually reviewing quite well which i didn't expect... the basic petrol 2wd model seems to be a great little truckster a fair bit above the koreans in dynamics if not plasticsOriginally posted by boxxx

"lowered expectations"
live it, love it, live with it
i'm guessing the stripper 2wd manual is 1,400kg with say 110kW, 200Nm? you won't be doing any M1 300 runs but its fine for 90% of people who are the target... its a girltruck, i would imagine 90% will be base autos which is fine for kid and coles dutiesOriginally posted by boxxx

Closer to 1500kg. People were whinging about a 190kw/300nm engine in a 1750kg commodoreOriginally posted by T0nyGTSt View Post"

i think some people are truly in love with SUVs or the idea of SUVs... i know people who will only buy SUVs and will never go offroad so those FWD softroaders are perfectOriginally posted by smellytofu View PostWhy would you bother with a jacked up hatchback? Dualis has a smaller boot than a Corolla hatch. Why wouldn't you consider the Focus/3/Golf/Corolla/Lancer/Civic/Impreza???
some have an excuse, eg. people with bad backs and older folks etc.
also to many people hatches have the stank of poor or girl cars or whatever and SUVs don't...
i think the Cruze wagon or the upcoming i30 wagon would KILL these things dead but thats just meOriginally posted by boxxx

This x infinity. With the possible exception of easier access to doing up kids' seatbelts and maybe visibility over traffic (diminishing every year as everyone else also buys an SUV), I'm yet to come up with anything a car-based SUV can do that the original car version doesn't do better.Originally posted by smellytofu View PostWhy would you bother with a jacked up hatchback? People surprise me constantly in their choice of vehicles. How can these vehicles (ASX, Dualis etc) be classed as UTILITY vehicles if they can't hold anymore than a povo spec Corolla? And the power to weight renders them slower than a 22K Golf 1.2L TSI.Originally posted by T0nyGTSt View Posti think some people are truly in love with SUVs or the idea of SUVs... i know people who will only buy SUVs and will never go offroad so those FWD softroaders are perfect
But as long as it looks "offroady" and has iPhone integration it's the best car ever built.

Dualis is no thing of beauty, but the ix35 is god damn ugly with its weird lines and extra small wheel arches.Originally posted by evil_weevil View Postso if people have had to make the choice between dualis and ix35....what did you go for?
