Transits are cheap compared to Sprinters!
$3000 for a clutch replacement because the dualmass flywheel needs replacing at the same time, on Sprintshifts for starters.

One of the couriers we use bought a LWB diesel transit and it just did a pump. Would be 18 months old.

Once a month he has a loaner while it is in getting repaired/ serviced.

So far ours haven't stopped. Fixed price servicing at Fraud and have been gentle on brakes given they are doing the same work. I love the Vito but to get the same internal space as the Transit I am looking at a lwb Vito or small Sprinter plus an extra $25k. Fuck that's a lot of power points and down lights to sell and install.
When it was me in the Vito it was easy to justify but now it's the guys, they seem to take good care of the vehicles but it's a lot of $ to make up.

Transits we have always seem to throw up Engine lights. 99% of the time its the EGR. Brakes last an infinity longer than the Hiaces, and tyres twice as long. (the standard $400 Michelins might be the reason though)

We also got a couple of Auto (automated manual) Renaults and they are having a few transmission issues. Slave/master cylinders and clutches. The latest is if the ECU for the trans shits it self its $6k, these often go out in sympathy when the clutch dies. Actually I suspect its the other way round?
Why cant the bloody euros make a decent Torque converter auto, instead of these POS automated manual crap.

Mercedes went back to proper torque converter autos in the current Sprinter, and kept them in selected previous generation Sprinter. Shame they stuck with the 5 speed auto though, apparently the passenger car autos can't cope with 500Nm and upto 9 tonne GCM.
