Was chatting to a local here last night:

- no drink drive limits
- no speed limits are enforced
- can also drive while stoned on grass or betel nut

theres one that parks in the cycle lane here in newport in melbourne - forces you into traffic to get around him.

i stopped and asked him why he did that -

reckons as long as he leaves 1.05 m spare its ok . -

no self respecting cyclist should go closer than that - in case you get doored - which means that you still need to leave the cycle lane to get around him.

next time i see it will take photo and send letter to 'safety camera dept' outlining that in their zealousness to prosecute one set of road users are making it more dangerous for another set (cyclists)
