went the base spec as $2k for wheels and fog lights didnt really do it for me when a quick call to my tyre guy had some nice 18's with load rated tyres for $800...
Did the same thing for the same reason- except I went 4x4 DX. I think it came in at the same $39,990 on road of the LT but with additional auto and premium paint (pretty good trade off for the alloys and fog lights). I'd have to check the contract to be sure. Still though, missus wanted a sports bar and soft tonneau and I wanted tow bar, side steps, tub liner and electric brakes. Got the dealer to put alloys on it anyway and tint the windows for the kids as well so a few grand in accessories. Dealer reckons it's the first DX he's sold because most get talked up to the LTZ but fuck paying $48k for a demonstrator.

It should reach the dealer mid to late this week and then it's just a matter of the dealer bolting some shit on.

Glad it's all over. Shopping for these things is bullshit. You're talking a poofteenth of a difference between them all with price differences to match. From all reports Ranger / BT-50 are the best options but the BT-50 is uglier than a busted arsehole and the Ranger is top dollar and a wait to go with it. Plus it just wouldn't be right to tow a Holden with a Ford.

Only complaint with the Colorado- no rear drink holders (does have moulded bottle holders in the rear doors and four cup holders in the front though). The interior actually looks better without the climate control in my opinion.

Nice! I'm getting all the bars and shit off a mate at opposite lock.. Side steps, soft cover, tray liner and sports bar under $1500..

Yeah. I paid through the nose for it through the dealership tbh. You get that on the big jobs.

I just edited my post to include the tub liner because I forgot about it until you mentioned it. I'll need to check my contract before I take delivery or else I'll fucking forget something.

I went through the whole Hilux vs Triton rigmarole almost 3 years ago when the government was offering a 50% tax break for new business vehicles. At the time, both vehicles were almost identical price wise but the Triton didn't come standard with A/C. The Hilux petrol had the 2.7L engine and had about 25 more Kw's than the 2.4L Triton. For me, it was an easy decision. I picked up the base model 4 x 2 workmate single cab with a few options for less than $22K. It has now travelled over 50K km's and has been absolutely faultless. As you would expect from a Hilux.

Regarding towing, it was better than expected. Through the hills, you need to flog it a bit (whereas a turbo diesel pulls effortlessly down low) so it can churn through a bit of juice, but towing on the flat, it's brilliant. I tow my Evo out to Mallala regularly with the Hilux (with spare fuel, wheels, toolboxes ect. in the tray), and the Evo is no lightweight either (1400kg fully fueled).

                          I didn't get hit that hard. $300- $400 I think?

Crazy the difference in prices between dealers. I noticed the same thing from Mitsubishi dealers.

That's a good price, on par with the after market ones...

Make sure you put some pics up!

Also the fact that one dealer said 34000 was as low as they could go but the other comes straight in at 32900..
