No name dropping intended but I once worked for Saunders & Lowy in the early Westfield days. One thing you can be sure of, they & their offspring know how to turn a buck into several or a tax benefit. Cant boast to ever meeting the Saunders daughter but the Lowy sons were all made to come up through the ranks (albeit smoothly) to understand how business works.Originally posted by MickyD View PostI've been wondering who Erebus were and where they came from.
(on a side note, I think Lowy is as shifty as they come - his name, and the rest of his family, was all over the Lichtenstein banking scandal a few years ago, and it was hushed up VERY quickly in the Australian media)

Given the amount of stock/set parts and the lack of freedom to change them, where are they getting the differences in power? Just purely head and exhaust tuning?"If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough horsepower." - Mark Donahue Penske Porsche 917

I think there's very little difference in outright power output.Originally posted by itsnotagsr View Postgmh/momus/bill

The apparent differences in power are more likely corner exit speeds, and so suspension set-up.

Inlet manifolds, head porting, camshafts and exhausts are all areas where the small differences areOriginally posted by itsnotagsr View Postgmh/momus/bill

Yeah I know they use a control cam now, but not if there's one for the Fords and another for the Chevy. Nor if they are required to have specific lobe centrelines.Originally posted by Mrs Jones View PostCould be now. I know they're restricted. Been a few years since I worked on this sort of stuff
(Should read the rules, hey?)

Should, but not enough interest lol. We used to fuck around with cam timing a lot on the dyno. Little gains can be noticible when a whole field of cars is so tightly controlled, but then easily negated by good car setup and a good driver. Which is pretty much what you said Bill…Originally posted by RVK 355Hold it flat cunt

Who said not alot of love? They are great for what they are. Same with Nascar, great for what it is. I think most people on here are not your average bogan that can't see past a badge and are a chopstick width away from throwing a riot in Hyde park because of it.Originally posted by irsa76 View PostI know there isn't a lot of love for V8SC here, but you do have to admire the way they use smarts to work around some pretty restricted rules, same with Nascar.
I'll be tuning in for sure next year!
