About time someone said that , some of the comments seriously . I watch all the races , some of them can be boring but most are pretty decent and the cotf is proberly the best thing since the now ancient group a days . I follow Nascar and TRY watch that for 2 hours if you dont know the series inside and out ! , looking forward to the new regs and teams / cars which can only be a good thing for motorsport in australia .

LukeVl, you'd probably appreciate the finer points a lot more than me. I'm just after different things to close and good technical racing I guess. A bit more tech, different pretty shapes...

Why comment on not liking it and not having watched it recently, really? Because possibly excited at the prospect of a bit of dynamism being chucked into the mix? Has the basic formula changed much since it's inception? If basic tweaking a two make silhouette race is counted as significant changes and sufficient to maintain interest and warrant a lot of enthusiasts to stick around, i missed that boat.

Some people'll like the above, others will get tired of it or basic specs such as solid rear axle, it might work but adds to the staidness of it. Those people might be brought back into the fold if they throw a bit of variety into the mix and progress the technology a bit. Not sure what's confusing about that?

I've mentioned somewhere on here the last race I watched start to finish was at QR about 5 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and some of the side shows going on too. Lots of machinery and unadultered racing was great fun. Of course that'll be better than watching it festered with ads and voice over but as I said, maybe a bit of change will be enough to draw me back to watching it.

what makes me laugh heartily is the people showing interest now because of new manufacturers running cars mostly nothing like its road going equivalent while merrily looking down their noses at the "bogans who are too stupid to realise the cars arent anywhere near showroom spec"

I actually only went to the V8s in Townsville 400 to bogan watch

too hard to watch the racing whilst there, atmosphere is great etc etc but easier to watch on TV :D

plus, I agree with this guy :D

I think you'll find that the "oh I never watch them, they're boring" crew actually do watch them if they're on TV on a Sunday afternoon......but just say otherwise to give an aura of being edgey and into alternative motorsport.

I was making an observation in regards to the number of posts knocking V8SC in various threads, as I haven't had the chance to watch many races over the last few years I've reserved judgement. After watching bits of the race last weekend I'm wondering why I've been missing it. Good tight racing, plenty of tactics and some good old fashioned luck. As it has been said in the past, these days it doesn't really matter what the teams are driving, it's the teams that are the important bit not the car. Same situation as Nascar really. SBR are smart operators who aren't afraid of thinking outside the box, and have the runs of the board to make this a success.

Um, it's more interesting for me for a piece of machinery to have something more sophisticated in the suspension engineering department than a cart axle, developed as it might be?

To use an analogy, I'd rather be moving towards the more complex and interesting machinery you find in an R32 than keeping it real preceding 30 years style and averring change because wah! i don't like change man, noncompetitive, etc. Some might not give a fuck about keeping exactly the same formula and condensing it down into two motor and shapes or might like it that way, I got tired of it. I'm keen for any change to see if it makes it a bit more entertaining for me, problem?

How or why would someone purport to tell someone else what they like about watching racing? Look at all the different personalities and cars on here, are they going to get their rocks off about the same shit?

Too many numbers in engineering. Not for me. Also still not a massive fan of the silhouette style racing but at least guarantees competition and control (we all know why group A failed) and considering this is the first major change in years, might be worth watching? Should it be a total fucking surprise someone who hasn't enjoyed it the last 10 years be tweaked it's having it's first major shake up in at least that long?

Or looking down on cunts and whinging makes me hard. That could be it...

I enjoyed boganing it up live and have considered heading down when it's been on but townsville...
