ITT: Fanbois claiming they always watched V8SC and you guys are just jumping on our bandwagon.

The class has been stagnant for years. How old is the VE? 6 years?! The FG is 4 years old. When was Aurora introduced? VYs in 2004? 8 years ago?
The only thing that has changed is the paint schemes.

They go to a control chassis and four different manufacturer engines and four different shells/panels and everyone is excited but they are pathetic because they should have been watching the exciting racing all along? Fuck off.

Does everyone watch F1 for the exciting close racing or is the interest in the different applications of technology within a tight rule book to achieve an advantage?

I really enjoy the racing, the coverage on the other hand means I only watch it occasionally.

Yep agree. Go watch some of the Historic (Group Nb/Nc) racs. Hell even the now ridiculously expensive MCM series is taking off... certainly not low tech but its great racing. That I would and do pay to go watch.

I have a problem with a 2 make series of cars that the average punter can't distinguish from a sports sedan. I turned on some V8SC racing on the weekend with the hope that I would like it but it was still fucking gay. I'll try again in a fortnight... and again when this COTF shit takes off next year. If Mercedes and Nissan can somehow get some performance under the draconian rules they are bound by it will be a miracle but would make the series more appealing. Holden vs Ford... jesus that shit was old a long time ago.

^^ too in a big way... Clearly that they're bothering with the first major change in years could indicate a lot of things from worry about losing audience, trying to expand it and bring more people in, expanded advertising revenue, technological trinkets, dead falcon... But it's happening and people are keen to see it.

There's a lot to like about a lot of different racing, I enjoy watching HQ's bang doors through to old le mans. Good larf every cunt should be circle jerking everyone else over a 20 year old formula for v8sc. Because it's sacrosanct and perfect and needs to stay the way it is until we're all mandated to drive a pious?
