What shape is the layback?
This may be very important; you may scrape your mudflaps when driving in forward, yet not when reversing!
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.
Your google image print out above needs some labels. Is green grass, red a fire pit and white your massive stash of coke? I like the look of the pink car. Seems to be a old valiant or something.
Oh, and if you got that much drive way, who cares where you park!
I believe all it says about reversing is to ensure it is safe to do so but I think if it's on a major road/intersection then it's a bit of a no-no. Also technically if you reverse out of your house and cross the road's centre line you COULD get pinged but I somehow doubt it's ever happened.
Not sure if it's still the case but in Queensland at least, you aren't allowed to back out of your driveway.
If this is true then it's all the justification I need for stopping traffic each time I need to reverse down my driveway. I live on a busy 50kmh street where everyone does 80 and some of them get shitty if they have to slow down for someone that actually wants to enter their place of residence.
What I don't get is you have a driveway on a busy road you either have to take time (stop, change direction etc) one way or the other.
If you want to reverse out you can pick your time so you don't delay people or cause a hazard.
If you want to reverse IN you don't have a choice about who is behind you. BEST LAW EVER
for me reverse in always better as i like to just stick it in 1st and go in the morning

I believe it indicates the non inbred portion, hence the map is so small and localised to just tut's place however this has not been properly verified as a non inbreeding zone and as such should be taken with a grain of chocolate salty balls.
It's like that rule about motorised vehicles having to have a man with a red flag walking in front, wherever that is ... it's stupid enough that nobody takes notice anymore & nobody's bothered to repeal it.
Bill's mentioned it a few times as part of a valid response to "but it's the law" --> stupid laws get ignored all the time, including by those who enforce the law.

It was the case many years ago (I caused a small accident when I backed out of a driveway, it was my fault) but like I said that was a long time ago so things so it may well have changed. I was hoping that someone would know for sure.
