Hill starts with a manual towing can be problematical no matter how good a driver you think you are, which is why I'm going for a sequential auto. Newish turbo diesels perform quite well but are expensive and seeing that you are used to heavy petrol consumption then go that way or gas. Falcon is about the cheapest tow car, there have been a few tow car threads lately for more info on the various options.

      sure its the most expensive...
The charge can still go backwards, make no mistake. Especially if something like the crank angle sensor packs up and the ignition timing is dinky.
I've had LS motors backfire through the intake running on petrol before - Didn't detonate the manifold.

16-18/100 is screaming of poor maintenance IMO. Either that or excessive fuck wittery.

Guy came into work the other day after a filter for his OTR intake. Had a new Grange with the liquid gas injection. Said it was making 296 killawasps atw. Not bad for barbie fuel

90% on highway, you'll see low teens in ls1. Heck even with 4500 stall and 4.11's in my bolt on, most i would get was 14 l/100, right on 10 on highway.

                          Got tin lids?
I'm getting rid of my VZ 5.7 man Crewman. 105k, white, hardcover, A1 interior (after i clean it), towbar, couple dings and hasn't been washed for 4 years.
Lightning is at my discretion - don't fuck with me

I went from a 304 VS Statesman to a 2 litre common rail diesel and the diesel wins, in actual fact no contest at all and we are only towing a 700kg totally enclosed trailer, A mate of my son bought a latish LS V8 Commo for towing a car trailer and he hates it. They both have a similar issue, at 2000 rpm in top the power developed is too low and soon as it sees a hill you have to start going back gears.

LS1 - even after a tune it returns 20+ litres per 100kms - never again.
