There's only 1 set of traffic lights in town luckily.

Santos installed a whole bunch of "keep left on corners signs" in the middle of nowhere, because all the yanks were instinctively heading right when confronted by a car coming the other way.

at the TT on the isle of man they put up signs everywhere(and on IOM radio) in french and german with

      ' drive on the left'.

cause all the johhnny foreigners get excited and revert to driving on the right .

was there one year and some germans in a kombi killed 2 (or 3?) motorbike riders when they pulled out straight onto the right side of the road and took out the motorbike riders (who were proabably at warp speed - but with no speed limits outside the towns were in the right. not that that bit helped them)

They want to bring in "rest on red" here. Where overnight the lights for every direction are red until a car reaches the intersection.

I'll put my screamer pipe back on if this happens

Lol, yes it is lucky! We were in the car and one of them was driving a couple of weeks ago and he turned left at a red. I mentioned it and he just said "I thought you were allowed to do it" hahah. And about a week and a half ago I was in the car with a different one and he pulled out on to the right hand side of the road. Was pretty funny!!

RTA seems to be including red arrows (especially at red light/speed camera sites) to give an initial few second delay to those wanting to turn (left or right) when the main light turns green. Usually to protect the pedestrians on the left from over eager motorists

One particular example is McEvoy/Botany Road in Alexandria. Little girl was squashed by a left turning truck. Both the truck and pedestrian had the green light. They put in a red left arrow that stops drivers just turning left as soon as the lights turn green. It disappears after 5-10 sec.

Intersections are by far the most dangerous places for drivers/peds in urban areas

Where? I do 200+km around Adelaide every day and I've never seen anywhere that was posted as being able to turn left on a red, unless it's the turn left with care slip lanes

Agreed but the second part, not so sure. Have been watching the steady change over 10 years from scepticisim to drumming to govcos beat to the point they just go with a lot of the safety +++ crowd now (especially regarding cameras.

                  And about frigging time.

Maybe queensland drivers should come to grips with the old keep left unless overtaking first before they attempt to turn left on a red light

Used to be one at the traffic lights halfway along OG Road, not sure if it is still there.
