I heartily approve of this elderly driver.

A 102 year old American woman, Margaret Dunning, has had her driver's licence for 90 years, and still cruises around in her 1930 Packard Straight 8 740 Roadster. She also owns a 66 Cadillac DeVille, a '75 Cadillac Eldorado convertible and a 1931 Model A. She daily drives a 2003 Cadillac DeVille. Pretty damn cool for an old lady!

My late grandfather had quite a nice collection of European classics when he died. Among others, his garages held a 1958 Mercedes 220s sedan, 1957 Rover 90 sedan, 1968 BMW 1600 Cabriolet and 1974 2002 Coupe, 1953 Land Rover, 1978 VW Golf and a 1981 E23 BMW 7 Series.

Does anyone else have stories or photos of cool old people with cool old cars? Having met quite a few through doing work for car magazines, it's amazing what awesome machinery can be sitting in the garages of fairly ordinary looking houses.

Valiants, lots of Valiants, none of which have survived the 'upgrade' to XF/EA/EF Falcons over the last 10 years.

One uncle in his late 70s still cruises his merc 450 SL he has had since new, together with a late 80s Roller. Refuses to wear seat belts and smokes cigars while driving.

          Boss.

Another suzuki guy i know has a customer that he built, it was either a hillclimb or a circuit car, for a 93 yr old bloke . he started out with a n/a swift gti , that got too slow for him so he turbo'd it . then that was too slow so he has sold it on to another guy (in his 60's) and he's going to buy a porsche.

I also have a few customers in their 50's and 60's that race gti swifts.

My Grandma had a mission brown Austin Kimberly in mint condition. She offered it to me as my first car but i politely declined.

Under steer is hitting the wall with your front end. Over steer is hitting the wall with your tail end. Horsepower if how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how much of the wall you take with you after you hit it.

bloke at my work had some cars passed down to him from his dad who was USAF jet fighter pilot (F14/F16) who was on aircraft carriers and stationed in asia.

                      1948 Buick Super 8
1949 Buck Riviera Roadmaster (Apparently only 4300ish made, only one in australia)
                      1967 Mercury Cougar XR7
                      1968 Mercury Cougar.

These cars he had to get shipped from Guam and the Phillipines.

I've been lucky enough to be taken for a ride in the '49 Buick, felt so wrong with no seat belts and a metal dash just waiting to smash your face but was really like being in a time machine, makes you realise how shitty todays cars are

Apparently there's 3 more rare-ish old yank tanks still in the states.

Old bloke in the club, late 70's, sprints a road registered RB30ET engined 260Z, mainly at Morgan Park. His best lap at Lakeside is in the low 62's which ain't bad by any standard. Age by itself has little to do with driving capacity, some people just can't drive period.
