Is there somewhere else I should be looking for Caldinas other than car sales? Importers etc that service Brisbane?

It's a carryover platform from the last of the 2.0L Celicas they sold here, under the skin, isn't it?Originally posted by 2JZR31 View PostBut how big is a Caldina?
They look to be about ST20X sized, lengthwise & widthwise, but a little taller.Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

I hear you on the obscure import being a bit of a crazy idea for this. But fuck me this is performance forums. Please leave rationality out of this :p I will continue to drive my camry POS, unless I get that new job I have been trying for. At least when we go anywhere together we will have a car which is kinda cool (we live together). Plus I am not buying it she is. I did explain that an import like this will cost more to insure and repair if crashed but she is not phased and likes the idea of something like this. She has never crashed in her life. $75 a month for insurance seems fine if that's true. As far as mechanically I think it will be pretty strong and wont give too many hassles.10.83 @ 125

caldina GT4 is about as ricey as a stock WRX hatch. and the wrx is slightly smaller. lib is like 300mm longer than the wrx.
having said that id probably rather the caldina over the wrx also, unless i had to work on it.Originally posted by Rdyno70ynu has to be the most retarded cunt here. Still thinking of the Caldina. But now found this. How reliable is the DSG gearbox and what about clutch life? Wonder how much a new clutch costs? They have less power than the caldina but weigh like 400kg less!!!

We are talking about the newer Caldina, all 1755kg of it. Golf is 1360, so I did exaggerate. Its only 395kg heavier.Originally posted by Rona View PostEarly model Caldina is only 1450kg so I doubt they are 400kg lighter.10.83 @ 125

Could be getting due for a DSG service which won't be cheap. Also it is a 2006 model from the VIN (not 2006 build 2007 model from the ad) and the left rear tyre is the wrong way round. Would probably be due for door locks to fail.Originally posted by 2JZR31 View PostStill thinking of the Caldina. But now found this. How reliable is the DSG gearbox and what about clutch life?
