I think PF should recommend you 3 cars (realistic cars) and if you don't pick one in two days, we pick one for you. If you don't buy the car we pick - Banned.Originally posted by Marco_VESS View PostI'm fucking trying to do that!

I have bought 4 cars interstate sight unseen (pics of course, but not in the flesh), driven them home and never been ripped off or screwed with a shit car. Stop procrastinating and just buy something already. If it doesn't work out or you don't like it sell it and buy something else.Originally posted by Marco_VESS View PostYeah. Getting pretty frustrated with this whole thing after another fruitless weekend, and no chance of getting out of Canberra in the next month or so to look at anything further afield.
That crown that GT posted would be perfect. They are basic, simple to work on and will fit the family in.RB26......................Again

I agree with jim buy a unique cars or just jars mag, and have a look thru them. You might get some ideas of possible cars to look further into. I prefer just cars due to its lay out has a ford section so you can look at all the fords in one place compared to last time i looked at unique cars it was spread all over the place making it hard to compare the same model of car to others that might be in the magyou cant spell advertisements without semen between the tits

Agree with the impulse buy mentality but some people just can't do it. I can't either FWIW - it take me months and months to buy anything (not that the outcome is any better mind you).
I dont think there is a rush on this, let the guy take his time and buy what he is comfortable buying in his own time.VT, VH & C43

That's the problem though, old mate's already said he has a problem with putting things off and talking himself out of things. He needs to do something rash to break the cycle.Originally posted by exwrxex View PostAgree with the impulse buy mentality but some people just can't do it. For fucks sake. Buy that corvair or kill yourself in the face.
It's a piece of automotive history and you'll never drive it fast enough to do any damage anyway. Bin the shit wheels, get some period steelies, paint them red, chrome mini hub caps and white walls, leave the cunt alone.
These threads frustrate me, doesn't anyone have a set of balls and want an adventure with old cars anymore?Originally posted by Dimi80mm of penetration isn't bad, i wish i had that much.Originally posted by schnitzelburgerMy entire working career pretty much consists of suckin dick and takin names.

I'd jump on something suitable straight away - believe me I'm as frustrated as anyone else. I have the money available, I have cleared enough room in my garage, I don't need anyone's permission to buy, I'm good to go the moment I see something I like. I'm not an impulse buyer but I've now got a good idea of what I want and I'll buy the right car on the spot.
Just as a general update on recent developments:
- Was all set to go lowball the yellow bug that I looked at a few weeks ago, got in touch with the owner Tuesday, they got back to me the day after saying they'd sold it Tuesday night. Had planned to check it out again last Saturday while my Dad was in town - would have been good as he's been involved in all my other car purchases, is excited about this idea, and needs something to occupy his mind with as a retired mechanical engineer and fitter who now divides his time between gardening and medical appointments
- Had been in touch with someone selling a Type 3 on the north coast, would have been happy to take the gamble on a cheap flight there to check it out, they haven't got back to me on some of the info I was chasing (and now the free weekend that I could have gone up there in has been filled up).
- Decided the 924 was a no-go because the only reason I was interested in it was that it had a Porsche badge on the front.
For the first time in probably more than a year on Sunday arvo I was actually able to just go out with the nopics without the kids or anyone else - would have been the perfect day to go out in an old car. Ended up having to go in the bloody Vectra instead

924's are fucking homo - sorry, but don't buy one.
But don't jump on something "just because" figure out what you really like dude and take the time. You'll be far happier to take longer and be sure what you get is what you wanted as lots of ideas will come up in the meantime cos they are in the right price or look good or someone else tells you they are cool but you need to find the car YOU want that also meets the conditions of budget/quality etc and that shit just takes time!Hide yo' wife!!!
