I'm with muz. How the fuck can you put someone in jail for riding a motorcycle too fast when some bloke who glassed someone at the pub and left them blind in one eye is back at the pub straight after his court hearing? It might seem like a big number but so what... nobody got injured or even had their property damaged so was it really as dangerous as the number makes it out to be? Nanny state bullshit.

Probably going to get flamed for this but I've hit 200km/h in a 60 zone before. If you're the first off the lights so nobody is around you (other than perhaps another bike that is also doing a similar speed) and it's a multi-lane road with good vision and no pedestrians, it's nowhere near as dangerous as you might think.

They are barely holding onto the road at 60kmh let alone 200kmh. 200kmh+ on a bike is insanely fast and on a litre under hard acceleration the front tyre is usually off the deck. So you can't tell us that the bike was designed to do this on a public road with traffic and people around cause on the other side of the scale bikes don't brake for shit. So even if he was able to see something coming he couldn't stop for it. So no it's not designed to do this at all.

Bikes can actually stop incredibly well if you know how to ride them. Most people think that because the rear wheel is starting to lift they are braking to the maximum of that vehicles potential but they are actually causing the rear wheel lift through weight transfer to their hands. If you lock your knees into the tank and push your arse hard against the back of the seat while using your hands only to gently guide the bike you'll reduce the stopping distance massively.

You contradict yourself. It's nanny state bullshit that allows the fuckhead who glasses someone to get away with it. Poor fella had a rough childhood.

That being said based on what that QLD forum guy in the supra got for killing someone and maiming two people it'll be another slap on the wrist.
fuck off cunt, why are you even on this forum?

Interesting opinions. I don't agree with them all and a lot of the people commenting are limited in their experience.

I try to avoid acknowledging keyboard warriors but since i'm bored, I wasn't saying they are designed to do 200 in a 60 zone. I was saying that they are specced with power, brakes, suspension to handle that from the factory and it's not like a 12at mazda 1300 that is scary at 120km/h and likely to spear off in any direction before anything has even gone wrong

Anyway the article I linked is not the current question, I just linked that to demonstrate what his past history is like U& to show he won't get much leniency. That particular one has already been sentenced etc (as mentioned, 8 months community service) about two years ago. This is another offence for riding outside a marked lane so go get wound up about that you fuckers. It has just escalated because he is a numpty and ran (got caught) because he still had no license (booked for that too).

True, and it'll change from incredibly shitty to only very shitty.

How well you ride at that speed is a small part of it, a bigger part is the numpties on the roads that you rely on not to be numpty's when you are going that quick.

Yeah because Gramdma on her way home from bowls expects to find temporary Australian doing 200km/h in a 60 zone.

                      time and place.

if I was giving way at a T intersection and he went past at 200 i'd be pissed.

i dont want that shit on my conscience/coming through my door thankyou.

I've done 300km/h (186MPH) on a bike every day for a two months when i was commuting from london to Woking in the UK for work. on a motorway, still a risk, but it is managed. and I'm a danger to myself.

200 in docklands, risk not managed, and you're a danger to everyone nearby.

                      Oo___oO

Eggs zachary. We, motorcyclists, all think we are pretty fucking good riders but mostly it's misplaced but you don't realise until grandma does what she does every other day of the week with no issue and then you get a proper test!

Grandma doesn't even expect you to be going 60.

If bike is meant to do 200 so well, go do it, elsewhere. Thanks rusty-onabike
