I got one of them too.

The SnapOn has been good but its super slow, I dont know if its a hardware or software problem but battery life is rubbish, takes AGES to boot up etc.

      How much is a G-Scan?

I had to close their website, because .. .well ... because of the music http://www.gscan.com.au/services.htm WTF!!?!??!?!

Some interesting replies here. I'm not sure the SRS module would need replacing except for precautionary measure as I'm fairly sure it's just an accelerometer. I guess I'll just have a go and see.

Anyone on here switched on enough to hack ECUs so I can just bench test the system instead of full scale? I need to simulate impacts (accelerations) at the sensors and log the outputs.

What are you actually trying to do?

The Bosch ones I have played with have "crash data" stored on them which could not be cleared with a scan tool. There are a few mobs that can clear and reset them. Easier to change the module sometimes.

I'm trying to determine certain parameters of the sensing algorithm. So I can either do it with physical testing or bench testing by varying the magnitude and characteristics of the inputs. So I need to repeatedly trigger the airbags, reset and repeat.

Any info on said companies? Can they get the data off the module or just clear it?

Are you able to just request the data from holden ford or bosch as bosch would have tested all this for both company's and they will usually release data if the car in question is a certain age.

Edit: just remembered you want data up to 2010 so yea request for data would be denied.

I've tried a few avenues- OEMs, manufacturers (Bosch, Denso, TRW), ANCAP. I don't think it's impossible but it's not easy

There was a few mobs in Australia from memory, never do enough airbag stuff to bother chasing it.
People have already cracked the SRS code
