Problem with most of the pommy sedans is that most of them are worth SFA even when immaculate - Humbers, Austin A90s (people strip them of their drivetrains for Austin Healeys) etc.. Mk2 jags are probably an exception to this rule. Even the S Type, which is a better car is not worth much. Everyone seems to want English sportscars instead. While probably a bit dearer, what about something like a Riley RM? Also Morris Minors are starting to get a folllowing? Austin A30s/A35s are super cute?

I agree. You could buy the most immaculate Rover p6b and a 3500S to boot, anywhere on earth for less than 6K. Only P5b's are going for crazy money and I don't think they're still worth anything more than 10K.
I cant get over how cheap XJ6's are. Brit sedans bar Bentleys and Rollers aren't worth anything.

If you wanted a cheap Rover, SD1 with a toyota box would be cheap fun. Just need to sort out 70's Pommy workmanship. Motorsport history on dirt and tarmac is pretty cool.

Okay the early ones (which I think look the best) come with a 900cc Side valve four boat anchor, that makes an Austin 7 engine look high tech..... But just about every car has been converted to something decent - Datto L series, BMC 1275s etc.
They handle pretty well for there age. This was Alex Issigonis's practice for the Later "mini" and apparently he was more proud of it than the mini?
The Toolmaker at work has one with a 1275 in it and it goes alright considering it was built in 1950!
