    From wikipedia

"The Vanden Plas Princess 4-litre R was announced in August 1964.[8] The biggest change was under the bonnet, where a new 4-litre Rolls-Royce straight-6 engine was fitted — hence the "R" in the name. The 3,909 cc over-square Rolls-Royce engine was a short-stroke version of a Rolls-Royce engine similar to that used for certain military vehicles, and boosted claimed power output to 175 bhp "gross" which provided a considerable performance increase, accompanied by wider tyres, a much higher final drive ratio and the standard inclusion of the US built Borg-Warner Model 8 automatic "
    I stand corrected!

It is a vanden plas R model.

It comes with a spare motor and gearbox. It is still running on it's original motor. Roll Royce 4.0 litre. Paint isn't quite as good as the picture, it has a fairly strong patina. 1 owner though I'll duck over and grab some more pics if any interest.

A guy in Ireland has done a jag IRS swap in a p6b. Can't see the sense really... Simple Solid axle with leafs would have been easier.

I thought the De Dion was a positive step over a Live axle? Less unsprung weight without any swing axle problems or strange underdeveloped IRS problems? Is there a problem with the Rover version?

There's a bloke in the gear club in qld with a pcb rover v8 that is very fast and screams is guts out down the straight. Another of the gentlemen who sometims punts is immaculate DB6 around Lakeside has a lightweight xj6 with 300 hp rover v8 conversion. It keeps the 308 Ferraris in check!

Also this for sale (kinda related to me)

fucken lol at the advert, I'll pay that:

"No reserve auction. Bid to buy.

If you want the best Daimler Conquest Century, go and buy it. This is not it.

If you want a real good Daimler Conquest Century, go and buy that. This is not that.

What this one is a reasonable car, new tyres, brakes, reasonable paint, good inside. But the allegedly renovated engine has probably spun a bearing. There is a complete spare car with engine and gearbox included. So would be either a good candidate for an engine swap, or potentially a second car. The first car has a preselect box, that worked well before the noise in the engine. The second car has a fully auto.

First car has original leather in good order. Second car has a velour tratment. Well worth an inspection.

No attitudes, English experts or surgical equipment please. The start price is reasonable, and (if you come to inspect) you will see that I have too many projects and an injury that prevents me getting stuck into them. Phone me on 5341 8490 to discuss.

                  Good luck."
