The other complaint I read about them was that they show a "slow down" message when overheating, usually during trackwork.

I've done about 20 laps of wanneroo with it in full manual mode, and it never missed a beat. May not have been the case in super sport mode (hunting a bit more).

I drove a 2009 GTR before buying this, and the Evo X transmission shits all over that era Nissan for around town drivability IMHO.

I probably wouldn't own one out of warranty.

Fucking reversing beep makes you want to kill the fucker that invented it.
Thanks Alex. The car has 12 months factory warranty still on it and the dealer is offering 2 years additional mech warranty as part of the purchase. As it stands, the car has around 31000km on it which isn't a lot and the transmission was very good with only the odd lurch due to my lack of technique.

I think I would grow to love the reverse beep.......................NOT!

I like these things. Drove a few MR versions a bit over a year ago. Good looking (IMO), Comfy ride (for an Evo), decent interior (for an Evo), Quick enough.
2 major -ve points which turned me off :
      - Fuel tank the size of a small yoghurt pot. This would get tiresome very quickly.
      - Non-folding rear seats, which if you're a family man or one who likes a bit of skiing/snowboarding/whatever (or all of the above) is just stupid. Bought another Audi instead.

Yep, that's about the only thing I can think of that I don't like about mine. Fuel capacity and boot space/lack of folding rear seat.

Why not a Impreza STI with a normal 6 speed Manual?

one of the first things people worked out how to do when Soarers started getting imported was find the module under the dash that had the reversing beeper and rip the fucker off the PCB...

I've really struggled to like the styling of the new(ish) Impreza. I haven't driven one yet but seeing as I'm stringing a couple of the Evos to the end of the month, I might take one out tommorrow. Hell, for the money, I could get a bran noo WRX. Prolly wouldn't though, I don't want to be the bloke who takes the depreciation hit.

I'm not in a desperate hurry to do the deal on anything. Maybe after a drive, I might like a 6 speed STI.

Why not just go for a manual Evo then?

I have an MY11 lancer ralliart with the SST.

car is awesome. no issues with the SST, i dont care as this car I lease with the idea of just getting a new 'whatever takes my fancy' car every few years, so I'll hand it back in november.

You are correct thought, the tiny fucking fuel tank gets very old, very quickly, and the sucker drinks fuel.

Ha, the guys with the Evo drove last week, who blew off my lowball offer, just phoned to say they'd take it! Too bad I'm off that car. I thought it'd take longer for them to crack.

Yeah bv, I drove the car for 30 minutes on a full tank and thought I was wrong in thinking the fuel gauge had dropped during the test drive. I think I was correct in my observation now. What does it hold? 40 litres?

Could this be a first?? The dealer that offered me the black 2008 mentioned in the previous post said he had another buyer and fuck me, the thing's sold! Time to buy a lottery ticket, an honest whiteshoe....

I lowballed them 39K on their 43,888 sticker price and the used car manager (who looked a lot like Tom Cruise but taller) said "Nah, offer has to start with a 4".

So I walked, like you do. Maybe it actually went for less Maybe they had an even lower offer from the other guy and tried to cut their losses (ha!) and get another grand or two out of me. If you think about it, knowing whiteshoes, this is the most likely scenario.

Anyway, I've lowballed these guys in North Gosford on another one so let's see what happens.

Got a link to yours Sucker?

Not at the moment, had it on carsales and a few other sites for 6 months+ and the best offer I got was $38k, that was mid last year. A few dreamers around $30k...

In the process of getting more pics and it cleaned etc. I will have a proper link within the next few weeks if I get my act together. Not really in a rush to sell at the moment but a change would be nice.
