    Where are Hitachi made?
Last time i looked for tools, some makitas are made in china. Same as dewalt, milwaukee, etc.
I'd only ever consider a bosch or hitachi

I borrowed a friends DS18DL and used it to drive 6000 screws when doing my deck.... it has heaps of power and didn't miss a beat. I bought the same drill after seeing how good it was... they can be had fairly cheaply on ebay.

I personally wouldn't get a cordless hammer drill... If it gets that serious it thinks it better breaking out the coreded drill.

Hitachi is one of the top tool makers.

You have to keep a good eye on tool makers because every now and again they try and release a cheaper range which is shit and is a money grabber.

I have makita cordless drills and they are solid performers. One of them has undone and driven in a couple of thousand roofing screws and still goes like brand new.

Don't go the DV18DFL its the compact version of the DV18DL(HL), its alittle heavier, all metal chuck (instead of plastic around the outside).
If you dont make it do what a corded tool can does then you'll be sweet.
Drill into brick (not concrete) up to 12mm for wall plugs etc no sweat, then you got the rest for screws and drilling wood/steel.

They are moving more towards the slide in battery range they have but still do the Cassette stuff atm,
but they'll still have parts and 1yr warranty if you buy it from a legit store.
