due to a legislation fuck up in SA, for the 1 day I was on L's, I was allowed to do 110kmh, the following day when I got my P's, was only allowed to do 80kmh for the whole 12 months on them

Learners on the Barton at best get bullied off the road and at worst get overtaken in crazy places by every bugger and their dog. Hopefully this will help.

Doesn't have to be 120 hours of dedicated lessons, currently teaching the daughter and we are up to 60 hours in 6 months just by having her drive everywhere (to school, to work, to friends place, etc) Basically, all the many hours we used to drive her around, she now drives instead.

And I'll echo the sentiments about doing 80 on the freeway - it was just plain stupid. You don't realise the vast speed difference till you try it.

She is often tailgated and at one point was brake-checked by a semi because she overtook it going up a hill, then pulled back in front and contiuned on at 80. Once the semi got onto the flat, it caught up, overtook, then pulled back in front and slammed on the brakes. Stupid on their behalf, but that's the type of behaviour that the 80 limit brought on.

No, that's the type of behavior fuckwititis brings on. If the car has L plates on then wtf!?

I mean, overtaking the truck wasn't the best idea, but he could have killed the lot of you if she panicked.

she will get it in the next few weeks, I had a restricted license when I was 16, where I grew up if you waited a day past your due date you where gay.

I want to get her a cool car, she just wants a madza 2 she has my wifes 05 vectra at the moment, she just doesnt see the freedom we did with a car in youth. Seems like the phone is their freedom.

LOL funny when most of us think about when we got our licences...I did 5 30 min lessons, a bunch of actual driving around with Dad and then got my licence the day I was eligible at 17. And back then that was a lot of driving before getting a licence!

I don't disagree with making people better drivers (hopefully!) but cars are safer, roads are better and these cunts can't learn at the speed limit and not be shit in general? I remember going as fast as whatever shitbox we were driving would go and never killed ourselves.

If they want these cunts to learn let them do the normal speed limit and learn the way they will have to drive once they have their opens.

I did maybe 40 hours then did the old different coloured pens for the rest of the handbook. Don't know anyone who actually got the 80 hours or whatever it was back then.

It is pretty sketchy doing a buck twenty down the highway and having a L player doing 70 mere metres away.

Learners should just be banned from freeways. They don't learn anything from it.

Dont even have to do that in Qld anymore. Fucking soft i say. Fucking poofter gumbyment say the test is to hard for the little gen y spazzies. AND... you can have up to 5 serious road rule breaches (speeding, crossing solid lines etc) before you fail.

Dont ask me how I know. ill tell ya to fuck off.

I'm of this mindset as well.

Too many near misses with them.

Too many near misses when I was a learner, too.

Honestly, I wasn't that keen on being a rolling chicane, but for some reason the old man insisted.

I wonder how many rule makers have tried putting a kid through L plates to a licence under these regimes? Mini-me got his Ls a fortnight ago and has been out on average every second day, for up to 20min a time as it is all he can deal with stress wise. Trying to find a place big and empty to get them started in safely is nigh on impossible to start with, then trying to fit time into the day for two working parents to get out and about is pushing it. At this rate it will take a year to get time up. And if we cross into NSW we have to drop from 100kph to 90.

While some learners cannot control a stationary teacup let alone a car, it is the role of the supervising driver to make those decisions about speed for them.

Much better that the first time they do over 100kph is by themselves or with a car load of mates.

Really? Because this is the best way to learn things?

So, learning to control a car at 100km/h in a straight line is such a massively technically task and we all just osmotically absorb it when we're 25?

good to see at least they realised something about the logbook hilarity, that at best it's a hindrance and teaching people to cheat the system and/or drive under the limit is the way. That 1500 people bothered to say they shouldn't have their stupid hours decreased IF they bother to do some more driver training (everyone I knew up here who got their license got max 6 lessons, no logbook, none have killed babies) says it all.

Fuck yeh. It could have been a step in the right direction if they'd dropped the hours, done some sort of comprehensive testing and dropped the SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED KILLS KUNTS mantra. But we get retirdeness and a bunch of cunts saying "erp, kids couldn't drive as good as my day."

Fuck yeah make it the same limit! When I cross the border on the bike I'm supposed to slow down to 80, fuck that. Im worried about dumb shits running up the back of me enough as it is.
