Does Daewo do the designs for Subaru now?

That rear wing is comical. With a new one could look ok.

rear half needs to be cut and shut with something decent..

I don't think there's any other way to put it.

          It looks shit.

              2015 Subaru WRX manual $38,990
2015 Subaru WRX Lineartronic CVT $40,990
2015 Subaru WRX Premium manual $43,990
2015 SubaruWRX Premium Lineartronic CVT $45,990

I think this is a bargain.

It's growing on me. At least looks just boring rather than wilfully ugly.

                  Waiting for STi pricing though.

I saw the New WRX and STis last week in the flesh and was underwhelmed.
Normal WRX looks better because it dosent have a circa 1996 Excel shopping trolley wing.

Sounds like it might be worth a drive.

I think they're only a decent sized set of wheels away from looking a lot better, the wheels are simply way too small for the rest of the car which makes it look funny.

                      Quick photoshop to demonstrate:

Didn't drop the ride height or anything, just added bigger chunkier wheels.

I tend to agree, the stock rear wheels look stupendously small

You'd have to lower it to get the guard-to-tyre gap so small - no?

Still, for $39k it does sound like decent value.
It really would be interesting to back-to-back them against ST & GTI.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Yeah the wheels and tyres as a whole are bigger so technically I suppose you'd have to have lower spring height to get the exacting look, but vehicle ride height is unchanged.

Anyway I'm more hopeful that if the car drives right it's not too hard to make it look less miserable.

CVT? So they're wanting to be known for broken gearboxes again?

For all the dislike due to them feeling/sounding weird, there haven't been any unreliable production CVT's since oddball companies without the required R&D skills (eg. DAF) failed to make decent ones in the 70's, have there?
Probably a safer bet than a mechatronic-clutch manual!
