Too many vaginas where cocks should be, anything that hold more than 3 suitcases is an awful waste of time and cash.

Liberty 2.5GT premium MANUAL wagon? How the hell did we forget that with so many Subaru fanbois here?
Yeah OK, it's not the prettiest thing out there but it ticks the boxes for me.

So, my Golf is now kaput. Getting a new engine and as soon as i get it back I'm getting rid of it. Atleast there will be 2yrs warranty on the engine, so I won't feel bad passing it off to someone.
            and...

If you say "Passat" I'll get angry.
Anyone else see the irony in a Skoda being offered up as a suggestion?

I was amused, I backed it up ... and unfortunately Clive didn't even take a nibble!
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

From speaking to a couple of VW and Skoda owners, including a bloke who has a Skoda Superb as a taxi, for some reason Skoda seems to have less issues then VW and better service from the dealers. NFI how that happens though, cars use the same components and here it's the same dealer, albeit different site/staff.

                  Could be expectation vs reality?
Jaguar used to do better in the JD Power quality survey than Benz, and back when Hyundai reliability was very spotty (think first-model Lantra - ew!) they used to do better than Toyota; and it was just because Jaguar & Hyundai buyers were buying with the expectation of problems, whereas the Benz & Toyota buyers were buying with one of the prime reasons-for-buying being "no problems".
Maybe Skoda buyers just don't expect as much as VW ones?
And maybe Skoda dealers aren't dealing with 18-month waiting-lists, so aren't as cocky?

                  *edit*
Also, Skoda's traditionally been a little behind (I don't think so anymore?) hasn't it? Stuff like the 6spd DSG 'box in Octavia when Golfs are running the more-bleeding-edge 7spd?

Different QA procedures in the factory perhaps?

                      More alcohol in the factory!

Factories not pumping out as many cars per shift probably. I remember reading Holden actually admitted the Commodores quality suffered when they increased the production, think it was with the VT. Although Toyota doesn't seem to have the problem.
And I do believe the expectation vs reality thing in regards to quality, my Rav4 was disappointing with all it's rattles, seatbelt failure, gearshift and general cheap feeling but apart from the seatbelt problem never actually stopped.

Simply the number of Skodas compared to VWs sold here. I think its running at something like 10 times more VWs?
Also, no Skoda (until the Fabia RS recently) was sold here with the 1.4twin charger engine. Skoda preferred the audi derived 1.8T engine (118tsi) or the base spec single turbo 1.4T (90tsi)

Yeah you just don't hear the issues with the Skoda product, a quick google will reveal this.

Unfortunately Cplus bought the worst possible VW product, which you cannot be expected to know at the time, and that product has gone a long way in its own to tarnishing the VW reputation of late IMHO.

It would be a shame for that to put him off what I thing will be a great product in the new vRS Octavia.

yep, the problems with the twin charger are very well "documented" on forums.

makes you feel like such a fuckwit buying one, but hey, who knew at the time?

I'd struggle to look past a 2.5GT Premium auto wagon.
