There's still some "pending & subject to" conditions but basically to ensure one is coming yes.

Megane may handle better at the limit and may even be a touch quicker, but in....every....single....measurable way the new Skoda will be better.

Up to 8/10ths let's face it you are not going to appreciate any handling benefit from the Renault, and lets face it no one except car magazines and possibly one other random person would ever take one to the track.

If DSG worries you....buy the Manual

It will also most likely be far more expensive in vRS trim. Prices of the Octavia in Europe are higher (noticeably) than the outgoing model.
